I've Got a New Baby! Introducing Skittles

I finally crossed over into the world of colubrids and this little guy is the reason why! Who could resist him? He's an albino striped California kingsnake!

And boy is he hard to photograph! But these pictures actually came out better than I had hoped. This is right before he was transferred to his tub and offered a f/t pinky (they told me they are awesome eaters, and he's already eaten and gone into his hide!)

Skittles is easy on the eyes. Maybe when I get a bigger place I can get some colubrids.

Hey Robin, Skittles is awesome, I fell in love with that little guy at the hotel when I saw him, Kingsnakes are cool little snakes, just don't have the room to add Colubrids right now, but maybe in the future. Also, Caitlin is pretty stoked that she picked out the little guys name!

Love it! Kings are just freakin awesome :D. I've got two albino kings right now that I think are just the coolest snakes lol. Just enough attitude to keep me on my toes and they are both my little garbage disposals lol. Congrats that is one beautiful snake!

Caitlin did awesome with the naming! We never did manage to come up with a last name for him though.

That's a nice example of a classic albino coastal king. CalKings are cool snakes. Good choice.

He's a laid back little fellow, too...for a baby colubrid. Didn't seem to be particularly freaked out by all the handling. VERY cool little snake and I am looking forward to watching him grow up in Robin's excellent care!

He is a true beauty! I am glad to see you made it to the coolubrid side! :D

It never stops at JUST one, its impossible for me, ends up being an addiction and another couple thousand in credit card debt, its really really not pretty, lol. I'll enjoy seeing you have you fun with the Colubrid though......from a distance!

When I bought him, I was like "he'll be my only colubrid", but now I find myself trying to find Kingsnake breeders (not easy to do with Google, btw, keep pulling up KS.com). Now I think I want to add an albino banana king and a Nuevo Leon Mountain King like the first one in this link: http://www.blackbeltreptiles.com/alterna/leonis.htm

Thanks Wes! Silly GA - you can't have native Kings, but you can have Cali Kings, but you can't have ANY corns - go figure. What makes him a coastal king? I'm still trying to learn the nuances between kings, milksnakes and corns - they all look so similar to me, although corns "seem" to have unique head patterns to me - but I can't tell the kings from the milksnakes - or are milksnakes considered kings? I have a lot to learn yet! Great - a new obsession! ;)

hehe, All I know is that I just saw him after we ( she will kill me if she sees that we LOL) got ours and I thought I wish we could have gotton one of these ( "makes plan", Aaron didnt want it he wanted the GTP), fast forward a few hours " Did they have anymore!?!?" " Theses a cool striped one over THERE!!" hehe, aint cha glad I liked them so much I remembered him:D I already took all the rat food I couldnt take dissapoint you again!:P Did you look up the adults? The contrast is awesome!

I also just joined the colubrid world and they are awesome bitey little things though. lol. But I enjoy them.
