:) Common name is "sunbeam snake" But Xenopeltis is so much cooler sounding. So i just call em by their latin name.

You got it right, hes a HE! LMAO *pokepoke*

Cool snakes! not hard to care for once you figure out how things are supposed to be kept * there is very little info out there on these guys, but Kat, Janeothejungle here on BP.net knows quite a bit about them, and she is VERY helpful! (thanks hun! you rock! Hope you dont mind me pimping your skills around. Heh) *, They need high humidity, and lots of burrowing substrate :)

I think they kick most other snakes "tails" in the iridescence category by far.

Thanks all. I love this snake!

I dunno if its the lighting in the photos or what, but I've never seen one that looked like that. Of course, I've only ever seen two in my life, but y'know (sunbeam snakes, that is). :P Very pretty snake. :)

theres flash in that photo, but they absolutely shine like they do in these pics, if not more, the camera just does not capture it at all.
Have someone show you them in real sunlight, they truly have earned the name sunbeam snake.

these guys feel like glass slipping through your fingers.
