male BCC vs. female BCI size
How does an adult male BCC compare in size to an adult female BCI?

I would say they are about the same, however the female BCI has the capability to get a bit larger.

I honestly don't think BCC get as big as some think they do. They may have reportedly been larger in some cases, but my 4 year old Suriname BCC female is only 6.5 feet and I have some 3 year old BCI female's that are all of 7 feet. BCI are much easier to care for though, BCC don't do well with ANY husbandry errors at all.

To answer your question though- An adult BCI female should in most cases be MUCH bigger than a BCC male.

I would have to agree that a female bci would be much bigger in most cases. I did however had an abnormally large male bci. He was 8 ft. Most bcc that I can think of off hand dont normally get very large.

I couldn't agree more! This is a concept that is thrown way out of proportion IMO. "BCC reach 8-12 feet"....Okay sure, but honestly, how many 10ft plus BCC have you seen out there? Not that many.
    .
Male BCC do have the capability to get large, especially if you have no intent on breeding them. But they don't get that big. Plus, you cannot compare a male to female regardless of the ssp. because of how much more girth females pack on.

Depends on the kind of boa you are looking at getting. Not just Imperator or Constrictor.

What does this mean? How does breeding them or the conditions they would be kept in if they were going to be bred affect the size of the snake. I know nothing about breeding boas so please inform. Thanks.

breeding of any kind for just about all reptiles causes weight loss, exercise and whatnot, both on males and females(but from what I understand, it is more drastic for females).

At least that's the only reason I can think of breeding being a factor of size.. I don't think it really affects adult lengths just weight.

Do you want these specific boas? or are you just looking for a smaller boa? ( because there are lots of small boas out there!)

I do not keep BCC( far too large for my tastes), but i do keep BCI. ( Island Boas though) so that is why i always make a comment about the differences in size. there are smaller boas in both. But the links above should give you a good idea about size, and information in general about both that you named.:)

I'm not really looking for anything right now but sometime in the future :) I'm not exactly sure what I want, but the smaller localities are too small for my tastes. Thanks for the links.
