Somehow I doubt that Sean & Celia would sell him this and claim it is a spider.
Celia, can you chime in on this?

He says he still doesn't see why his isn't a spider after looking at NERDs site. So I am sending him close up shots of mine with belly, eye and side shots.
    Glad I saved the pic.

wow.. that's a normal normal. Nice looking, but not a spider.
I'd hope he was just confused, and didn't understand the diff between sibling or spider.

haha, i was going to post that as a joke.....

we used to see this a lot in the carpet python world where people would think they have a jag, but all they have is a jag sib... which is nothing more than a regular ole carpet.

Re: He claims it is a spider!
Some people who dont know much about snakes usually cant tell the difference between a morph and a normal. For instance, my mother cant tell my spider apart from my normals.

However, since he knew about exoticsbynature and probably other various breeders he could have just asked one of them to tell him if it was a spider or a normal.

Anyways imo, he is clearly just trying to make a quick buck like most scammers.

    Hey Everyone,

Thanks for bringing this thread to my attention. Shortly after Ingrid notified us of this thread, we got an email directly from the person and so we started digging into our records to see if we could figure out what exactly was going on here.

We did in fact sell this individual an older female Spider Ball Python back at the beginning of the year. Sean packed and shipped the animal himself so we know for a fact there was no mixup as far as shipping the correct animal was concerned. Sean called and spoke with the individual this morning and he seemed very confused as to why everyone was saying his snake was not a Spider.

We told him the same thing everyone else had been telling him - that the snake in the photo he posted (which he also emailed to us), is NOT a Spider. No ifs, ands or buts! He was once again confused and insisted that he only had two snakes and that the photo was of his Spider that he purchased from us.

Sean asked if he could take some new pictures of the Spider and email them to us. A couple of hours later, I get another email from him with four photos attached. The first photo was the same as the one everyone has already seen of the normal on a dark grey background. HOWEVER, the next three photos he sent were all of the female Spider! I was even able to match the pattern of the Spider in the photos he sent to the photos of the animal we sold him and it's the same snake!

So I wrote him back emphasizing again that the first photo is of a normal Ball Python! But now the new photos he sent are in fact of the female Spider that we sold him several months ago. He hasn't emailed me back yet so we'll see what he says.

I don't think he's trying to scam anyone - just that he's a little confused maybe

Here are the photos he sent us of the Spider...

OMG!!!!! I can't believe they thought that was a spider even AFTER seeing pictures, on NERD non the less.

Edit: after reading the post by the people that sold the spider, I'm starting to wonder how smart this guy really is. Did he not LOOK at the picture he posted!

Wow... Maybe just legally Blind. I cannot see how someone owning only two snakes could confuse those two.

Just assuming the worst, It seems like maybe he's got a normal and a spider... And would like to sell that Normal for the cost of a spider, but got caught. I don't know but that is fishier than Chicken of the Sea.
