Absolutely normal, you will rarely see your BP while in shed.

My ball pythons curl up in a big dark lump on the warm spot and look utterly miserable until they are done shedding. <lol>

Shedding is like that "time" of the month for BPs, they don't like it at all. BPs can go months without eating if healthy, one or two missed feedings is absolutely nothing to worry about. A lot of times their vision is impaired because of the eyecaps, therefore, also limiting them, because they feel vulnerable, and don't want to endanger themselves.

Whether it's a ball, king, corn, milk etc. I don't even attempt to feed during a shed cycle.
