I love his eyes, the whole hairless kitty thing is a little strange to me though. What do they feel like?

Like a naked baby that has just had a bath. They act like dogs; greet you at the door wagging their tails, happy to see you. :)

AWWW! I love how they don't have any whiskers. We have a devon rex cat, so he's "mostly naked". -lol- He has a LOT of attitude - always keeps you on your toes. He has his own room because he was so bad about peeing on everything when other cats came around (even though he's long been fixed). So we put him in the Florida room and he has a little kitty door that goes out into a little netted tunnel with a hammock and everything. He sits out there and watches the birds. He's got his own couch, space heater so he doesn't get cold, water fountain because he'll only drink from running water, he's got shelves that go up and around and all over the room, and there are ropes to climb and everything. He's got it made, let me tell you. -lol-

This is probably one of those " If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" moments, unfortunately. What you find cute, other people may not.

This is honestly the first time I've ever found myself thinking that a "kitty sweater" is a good idea. Sorry, Baron.

They are interesting. I'm sorry but I really dislike cats.. Actually I like this cat more than most. Why? because I am so allergic to cats its not even funny. I hate cat hair. lol so this kind would be perfect!

I think he's way cool Becky! Is there anything special you need to do for their skin other than keep them warm and on a good diet? I love his feet, they're too awesome!

Re: My new Sphynx! (soon anyway)
I think he's a pretty cool dude myself. I'm not really a dog person and I hate pet hair. It tends to go up my nose, LoL. Sphynxes are very easy to care for other than they need bathing every 2-3 weeks. Since they don't have fur, their skin gets an oily build-up, as do their ears, and they need bathed. I'd rather have a bit of skin oil than hair all over the place.

These kitties are generally comfortable in whatever room temp we're comfortable in... naked. I keep my house generally at 78 in the summer and keep it below 70 in winter, so I'll have to get a heated pet bed for him or let the nekkid man sleep under the covers with me, haha.

And yes, I'll be torturing the poor thing with clothes.

As far as diet, he's on a mostly raw(ground chicken and parts) diet with some kibble to munch on throughout the day. He's less than 8 months old I think and already about 7-8lbs. His dad is 16-17lbs now, so he has some growing to do. I'll be putting him on a mostly kibble diet with some raw as his wet food since I don't have the time or money(or freezer space) to do raw(nor do I believe it's a complete diet, but that's neither here nor there). He has very nice skin, no dryness whatsoever.

He'll be learning to walk on a harness when he gets here too :) Poor child.

I've always thought they felt like warm suede. The vet next door owns a blue/white one, and he's just marvelous(although he-the cat distains me petting him, but I do it anyway).
He's cool. I prefer a non-pure-color in my cats myself, but one day I want to have a sphynx myself. Once I'm down to a much smaller number of mammal pets that is.

I'm getting Baron from a wonderful breeder out of San Antonio. Her website is www.sphynx.nu. She only breeds once per year and screens every cat every year for HCM. I had been looking for a good quality sphynx for a long time, and found Rebekah through a rat-group friend of mine. Sphynx can be prone to HCM(hypertrophic cardiomyopathy) but just make sure to adopt a cat from a breeder who screens religiously for it every year. Also make sure the breeder is going by the breed standard and isn't popping out kittens willy nilly for the heck of it.

Thanks Jess! He seems to have already attached himself to me even though he's not living here yet. Followed me around watching me clean yesterday, helped with the ShopVac(isn't bothered at all by the loud box of suction on wheels), wondered why he couldn't help me wash the kitchen floor or the litter boxes(I'm working for the breeder on the weekends).

Afterwards, I had to molest him and the others with the camera. He sat in my arms later purring with his eyes closed. Big mooshy dork.

Other pictures of Rebekah's kids(don't mind the carpet, it's a rent house)

Connie, you'd love her house then. Full of about 20+ nekkid kitties and one American Shorthair tabby girl(carries sphynx gene). One little girl thinks my earrings(and ears) are fun to bat and and BITE, LOL. I just like that they don't act like regular cats.

    Awwww!!

I'm so jealous. I've wanted one for sooo long, but they can be expensive, so I must be patient. I certainly aren't going to pick up one from a backyard breeder; I definetely would go the same route you did.

What a sweetie, cherish him for life! :)

Eeeee, I can't wait to meet him, Becky! When do you get to bring him home?

I laughed at your comment about the carpet. Mine looks like that, and it's not a rent house :bolt:

Re: My new Sphynx! (soon anyway)
Hopefully he comes home next month. I need to get the house cat-proofed, get some more supplies and get his "while mum is at work" double decker crate together. Hopefully after some slaving for Rebekah, I can get both paid off, LOL.

Then he starts going everywhere with me, so as he gets older, going to new places won't be a big deal. Going to have my friend Natalie bring her easy-going dog, Nissa, next time she comes to visit, so he can get used to dogs.

And Rebekah's kitties normally are expensive, generally $1200-$1500 plus, but Baron is discounted greatly because he's from a pairing of two cats that "possibly" produced a "possible" HCM cat. Rebekah has told me the owner was being very vague with her and hasn't sent her any necropsy reports(which I would have demanded before giving another cat out to the woman). R believes the cat is still alive because none of the other kittens from the two pairings of the same cats have any problems. R guarantees her kittens for a full year, so when that year was almost up, the owner of the possible HCM cat told R that the cat had died. Why do people have to act so scheisty to such nice people?

But anywho, I'm sure Baron will have no problems, but he'll be screened yearly regardless.

Haha, are you going to get him a little carrying case shoulder bag to carry him around in? They have nice ones at Sam Moon's, come on up and we will go shopping ;)

We'll be getting Rock Band II for the Xbox 360 this week, so we can have another Rock Band party! I know how much you love hearing my angelic singing :8:
