I've seen that on news, but never on animal planet. It's also kinda hard to mistake a 10ft snake for a 4ft snake.

It was a preview. Watch the actual show and let us know if it was still a ball python. ;)

Yeah those 10 foot "poisonous" ball pythons, they'll get ya every dang time  makes me wonder what kind of herbs they're putting in the all natural granola bars over there at animal planet. Aren't they the people that are supposed to EDUCATE on different animals?

Now now, according to Wal-Mart Employees, and my local neighbors, they are called vemonous 10 foot burmese ball pythons. See there is no distinction between the two according to them.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Yes, but they also like to over dramatize...alot!

Re: this really annoys me
That sounds just like animal planet. I was watching an episode of animal cops and they had their "reptile guy" get a snake from a guy who was moving and he kept referring to what was clearly a Red Tail Boa as a Burmese Python.

I saw that last night too and it pissed me off. They used the word "deadly" as well.

And people believe that crap too. I was in Petco checking out the Ball Pythons, Leopard Geckos, Bearded Dragons, etc and a guy walks in the store and over to the Ball Pythons. He says "Ball Python. . .hmmm. . .sounds poisonous". While trying not to laugh( I couldn't believe he took "ball" to mean poisonous) I told them they were harmless and answered a few more questions because he also thought they would grow to be about 10 feet.

I saw that one as well!
It was on the freaky show - they said "up next, a deadly find in a coeds bathroom" and it was a ball python. Then they were saying how it was deadly and were showing a burmese (i think) attacking prey and then going back to the ball python.
Pathetic.

I remember seeing something on Animal Planet about having to capture a red tailed boa. The snake was coiled up near a car, and the guy (who typically does rodent/raccoon type calls) was acting like such a baby. Granted, the snake was about 8 feet and was not happy. But it was doing such wimpy little strikes, and the guy's like, "Sometimes if we put a trash can in front of them, they'll crawl in to hide." So he literally chucks a garbage can at the front of the snake, and hopes that it lands somewhere in the vicinity of it because he sure as heck isn't getting any closer to it. He gave the snake about five seconds, and when it didn't go in he said, "Well that didn't work." Of course not; you have to wait for them to actually move. They don't just apparate into the trash can, dummy. Then they thought they'd put a towel over its head but the snake would strike at it every time. Honestly, I thought the man was going to cry. It was all a bit ridiculous.
