    Wow!:O Gorgeous!

The more I look around this site the more I realize that I know absolutely nothing about all the possibilities for owning snakes!

What exactly is a chondro? don't know if this is the right spot to ask this question...but I didn't know where else to put it:confused:

Itīs a Green Tree Python (GTP). An arboreal snake natural to Papua New Guinea and Cape York peninsula (in Northern Australia).

The latin name used to be Chondropyhton viridis when it was though to be monospecific; further studies included GTPīs in the Morelia complex, so, for some years now, the correct scientific name is Morelia viridis.

    But, the name "chondro" remained.

    p.s.: Rapture,
He/she looks great. Any updated pics? Mine changed (the most part) in about 2 months. You may find some pictures in this sub-forum

Re: Chondro getting a little green
Thanks for answering the "What is a chondro" question. :)

That photo is from just 3 days ago so no updated pics yet. :P Mine is a little behind its siblings because I kept it on pinky mice a bit longer, then I was unable to feed it for a couple weeks during the aftermath of Hurricane Ike. The sire is from a high yellow line, but I'd actually be more impressed if it turned out to look like its Merauke mother. And I hope it is a female. haha.

Hard to choose between a HY and a beauty Merauke...
Personally, I would prefer if it had some of both: HY (really like them) with the Merauke flowers, preferably in blue.

That would be an awesome snake !
