So....anyone else subscribe?


Anyone else just get DECEMBERS issue. Didnt it just become October?

Well, I just subscribed a few weeks ago so I'm still waiting on my first issue...

Melanie just subscribed for ME. So I'm also waiting on that first issue still. :P

I used to subscribe when i was a kid, but haven't had a subscription in like.. 8 years.

I think its gone downhill. I used to be excited about every issue but the last year it seemed like they were weak imo.

I just received the December issue also.

The same reason next year's car models always come out in the last quarter of the previous year? :confuzd:

I am surprised with over 4 million reptile owning households (US) that "Reptiles" is the only option. It isn't bad but seems driven towards a young (and beginner) audience.

I use too....Ive got boxes full of them.

...but honestly, the internet has basically replaced the magazine for me. Anything in the magazine can basically be found online.

...I remember sending SASE's out all the time when I was younger. But now everyone has websites, so there is no need. :salute:

I just subscribed a month ago, haven't got my December issue yet but I'll have to check my mail. Jerhart - I know you can find the info online but I don't get a lot of mail, it's always nice to find pics of reptiles in your mailbox :)

I've been subscribing for a little over two years now. It's been like that the entire time. Every other magazine I've ever subscribed to (quite a few in the last 25 years or so!) has always come out a month ahead (November's issue in October, for instance)....but Reptiles has always been two months ahead...almost three, because it comes out at the beginning of the month. It's weird and I have no idea why they do that.

I get em because I won a subscription to it for a year. That year will be up soon and I probably won't pay for another year. I kinda like it, but i'm not as into turtles and frogs as many others are and they focus heavily on them. I like Kevin's article on retics this month though!

Yeah , I just got it, this is the best one in awhile. Retics are the special, including alot of morph pictures, plus an article on Rufous Beaked Snakes (which I love). There is so little info on beaked snakes, I was very pleased to see they were featured in Reptiles. At the same time, I wish there were a couple other ones out there, maybe even one dedicated to just snakes.

I used to subscribe when I was a kid, but after a while I realized I could get the milk for free without buying the cow (i.e. go to BooksaMillion or elsewhere once a month and read it).

I was on the magazine's online forum (ReptileChannel.com) for a few years, but the site is predominantly run by children under 18 and one moderator who knows nothing of reptiles. They often ban you for no reason, so I am definitely not giving them any support now.

yeah it's like they just release them whenever... i once got two issues in the mail at the same time. i think i also got october and november about a week apart... and that was in september!

It just sucks, my whole year worth of issues is going to be delivered in like 4 months! LOL

Great article on IBD in this issue, wish that issue came like a month ago...

I subscribe to the magazine but it gets mailed to my house not my boyfriends where I'm actually living. It took me way to long just to start getting the darn thing after I ordered it I don't want to chance trying to do a change of address. lol But the bf and I like reading it. He's used to subscribe awhile back so we have plenty of old magazines in boxes.
My sister and nephew having been renting my place so my nephew gets to read them before I do. But at least he's learning reptiles are cool! I guess since the new one is out I'll have to make a trip down to my house to get it. :)
