Got a problem

About 30 minutes ago, I got a fedex overnight package, opened it up, and there was a red tail. Dont know what kind, I didnt order it, and the return address is blacked out with a sharpie. Maybe someone can tell me what kind it is. I have no idea who shipped it, i know I havent ordered any snakes since june.

Happy birthday! haha, that's not a bad surprise if you can handle another snake.

It might be a good idea to contact the people who shipped you your reptiles before, that is if they sell boas, to see if they made a mistake.

Have you ever had a snake shipped to you before? That should be the first place to look. There are probably 2 very freaked and worried people out there looking for this snake.

yes I have gotten snakes shipped before, plenty of times. Also, this snake was shipped to me, in my name. The return address is marked out, so theres not much I can do. I called the ONLY breeder i have bought from, and it wasnt him.

Ummm wouldn't FedEx be able to tell you who shipped that parcel to you? Though I wouldn't be going and saying "hey somebody shipped me a snake I wasn't expecting" but I would think you could track it backwards by the tracking number couldn't you?

It's a Central American. oh btw i shipped it you. i had an over stock so i picked a few lucky people to get new snakes. everyone else's will be arriving soon.

LOL Nice Try ... But I found out who shipped it. Won it from a drawing at the retile show in Raleigh NC a little while back, they just now shipped it. But anyways, so.. its a Central American...im not a boa guy, any pointers? growth, what i can expect...etc, thanks.

Kind of scares me that anyone can enter a drawing for a live animal. And the people shipping it don't even have a clue if the person receiving it can care for it properly. I'm not saying you don't have the ability to do that. But you obviously were not expecting it. What if you were gone on vacation or had moved? :O

That would have been some bad press right there had you not been there and the snake escaped.

So, did you ever find out why they didn't tell you the boa was coming?

Im a boa guy, and I only have like 2 snakes!

I went to the Raleigh show, and I heard NOTHING about them giving away snakes...... this seems strange to me..... I was there all day...and I am friends with some of the vendors..... I dunno

Who runs the Raleigh show? We could just ask them to straighten this all out.

They did call to verify I still lived here, my fiance answered the phone, she forgot to tell me. Also, the people who gave it away was Critter Country, in Garner NC I believe, and they tried to call me last week to have me come pick out what I wanted, but we were in Lumberton ;/
