Ladyohh, they are very obedient. I potty trained the female first because I got her 2 months before the male, and when I got the male she basically potty trained him. They bark very little to none at all, they are good watch dogs (not guard dogs). They are not hyper at all, which makes them perfect for an apartment. and best of all they look big, but they eat very little, about 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 cups a day, depending on what food you give them.

I used to have pitbulls, and let me tell you, they are night and day.

only drawback is the cost. other than that I couldnt be happier.

    hopes this helps.

Make sure she buys from a reputable breeder. There are many health concerns with them. They are great dogs personality wise!! We love ours so much. :D No problem house breaking her. I myself have only had 2 so not sure if it's easy to housetrain as a rule. The FARTS can run you out of the room!!:O

LOL, thats very true about the farts. I tried several different kinds of food, and the Innova, does not give them as much gas as some others.

Also very true about buying from a reputable breeder. I got my male from bigtimebulldogs. com. These people are amazing, Josh drove my pup to me all the way from Oklahoma, and I live in deep south Texas by the border. I highly recommend them.

Are they not typically stubborn types that will only bond to one person?

I have never noticed that in mine. My frenchies are very lovable to me and my family, what i find very intersting is that they also listen to my 3 year olds commands, even if im in another room and she is giving them commands they listen.

I think what you are talking about could happen, and that would be based on an individual dogs personality, and not as a breed in general.

Omg, frenchies!! I love your fur kids!! My husband and I just adopted a frenchie from Retrievers and Friends rescue locally (I said I would always give them a plug for letting me have this great little guy) and are totally falling in love!!

Our boy was raised in a kennel situation and I can't beleive how quickly this boy has fit into our lives and become a great family member!! The personality of this guy is too much!! They are definitely companion dogs and nothing makes him happier than to be with his people. Well..... we also have a boston terrier and standard poodle and playing with both of them is high on his list also.

i LOVE frenchies!!! the frenchie on the left looks like my cousins lindas dog, Butterbean!

I actually watched my cousin artificially inseminate her female about 2 weeks ago. Her sire Butterbean is a champion and one of her females has a couple wins under her belt too. Can't wait until the puppies come!!! Once my cousins website is completely up. I'll post the link so you frenchie lovers can check it out! But until then, here's the breeders site, click on champion pups and you will see him. http://www.japacas.com/index.htm

Frenchies don't slobber, and dont smell. You won't regret it.
