Re: female ball all lumpy?
the female is 3' 4" and the male is 2' 8" they were housed together for 2-3 days, while the males cage went under construction. They have been seperated since though. She is the same female rom the post a few weeks back about wrapping around her water bowl. What are late eggs?

Gravid;) She could be gravid if she was with a male, do you have the things to prepare for eggs? Like tubs and such? If not, and if she does have eggs and you do not want to handle that responsibility if they hatch, id put them at a degree of cold at which water freezes...( Hides from butters)

Moving them can do as much harm as freezing them, theres nothing in the eggs to get hurt

Re: female ball all lumpy?
i was planning on breeding them this year i was just going to attempt it later in the year like nov. I was also going to build the incubator much later but if it turns out shes gravid ill have to speed up my plans, i have all the materials ive been on this sight reading up on the different types of incubators. I was going to try the foam cooler one, thats if i cant get aused fridge in time. Ill get pics. I went to handle her earlier and i noticed she feels harder than usual about more than half of her body down. Is this any indication?

I just couldn't think of the word at the time. Lol.

If you could not take care of them when they hatched and they would be neglected, do you think that would be fair? I am not saying that the OP cannot, im just not sure of how much money they are willing to spend and if they even want babys, but by the sounds of it the OP will be taking care of them.

Re: female ball all lumpy?
This quickly turned into an BP abortion discussion.
If you room temps are corret and stable, I'd say let the mother incubate them. Many people have had great success with that.

Bleh, like we need another one of those!
We already know that I am not passionate about balls, would not say freeze them if they were morphs, and a bunch of other stuff from that other thread:rolleyes: Im just going to go ahead and get this out before this turns into something, Freezing eggs right after they are layed does NO harm to any animal, nothing feels any pain and is perfectly humane, like freezing water balloons. If you cannot take care of the babys after they hatch please do not try to raise them, it guarantees them bad lives for time time being in your collection and may do unreversable damage. It will do the same thing if they are morphs.

Re: female ball all lumpy?
Unexpected eggs has got to be a fun adventure!! Lol.... although I'm sure it can get stressful too!

Re: female ball all lumpy?
Everyone is jumping to conclusions, all the OP said was the BP is a little lumpy and spent a few days with a boy. Let's not count the BPs before they are hatched!

Re: female ball all lumpy?
didnt know i'de drive everyone crazy. sorry :P If she does have eggs i am totally prepared to hatch and raise the babies. It was my initial intention on breeding this pair as they are het for pied. It was accidental. It would just be off time wise. I wasnt expecting building the incubator so soon as i wasnt planning on these to to breed in nov or so. My plans for building the incubator woud just have to be sped up :) I hope this is whats the lumpyness with her. I tried o get pictures but she seems to not want to be bothered. Are there any other signs i should look out for to be sure if shes gravid?

Re: female ball all lumpy?
spent time with a male, wraps her waterdish, lumpy
Gratz post pics!! when she drops

Re: female ball all lumpy?
so is she officially ovulating? so how many days? how far along would she be at this point?
-
Re: female ball all lumpy?
I don't think anyone can guarantee anything at this point, especially without any pictures. People have already been arguing about what to do with the eggs, etc. without even knowing for sure if she's gravid. The signs seem to point toward being gravid, but only time will tell.

Re: female ball all lumpy?
I find that when my snakes wrap the water bowl and look lumpy its just a look. Or else my males would be laying eggs. Its an odd body position causing the lumps I would say. Don't worry there is still a future in breeding but I really doubt she is gravid.
