    Store Credit
I had bought a crested gecko from a reptile store in the area. Normally, they are very informed about their reptiles and they are a really great store. But, for some reason, two of the crested geckos I bought from this store died for no reason. All their adults are healthy and I've seen babies in their store (the same babies) for several weeks. Maybe I just can't pick good geckos. I don't know. His snakes are always healthy and eat well and I've never had a problem from any snake purchased from his store. The crested gecko cost $60 and he said that I can use that as store credit towards another animal. Now, he doesn't have much of a selection right this moment, but there are a few things he carries that I really like.

    A) Blood Python - He has one blood python. Its beautiful. Not sure whether it is a girl or boy but I just love how it looks and it was very mellow.

    B) Bearded Dragons - I might have a 20g Long tank available soon which would house a baby/juvie for a bit. He always has cute babies in the store.

    C) Corn Snakes - He always has baby corns. Anything from bloodred, to blizzard, to anery. Very cute. Right now he has an opal corn.

    D) Leopard Geckos - someone just came in and bought all of the gecko's he had (blizzards, carrot tail, hypo tangerine), but he usually has some in the store.

    E) Colombian Red Tail - they have one right now. Haven't held it or asked about it, but I do want another boa.

So, I know your going to say pick what I want, and I will, but I would like pros and cons of all these animals. I also know that $60 will not pay for any of these, but I plan on paying the difference. I really liked that blood, but I know they get big. (well not long, but big around).

    Any thoughts?:snake:

I have experience keeping bearded dragons, corns, and leopard geckos. I kind of want to try keeping something new, but we shall see. I'm going to do some research and find out what I want.

Well you can't go wrong with corns :D. IMO they are so much fun to keep and compared to BPs are just soooooo easy once you've got the babies eating regularly. My big ol adult bloodred is the nicest snake I've ever owned. But yeah, I'm biased :D.
Bloods are cool too but a bit on the strikey side for me and I just don't have any interest in those things with 4 legs lol. :rolleye2:

Since you obviously wanted crested geckos, why don't you ask for a full refund so you can buy some healthy ones from somewhere?

I always thought it would be cool to have beardies running around a tank.

Not sure if I can have a discount. I want a crested gecko but I want an adult and he doesn't have any adults right now. Not to mention the tank I would use for an adult, I'm giving to a friend for her cham.

Well a store credit is generally good for an extended period of time, so there's no rush really to use it right away. You could also use it for dry goods (pet food, bedding, etc.).

Bloods are impressive little giants. If it's a true brongersmai, and a female, your looking at one big little snake. :)

I definitely want to get some experience with an adult before getting one, but its on my want list. And no I don't have to use it right away, but I wanted some ideas. I don't really buy many dry goods from the store other than feeders, and hopefully I will eventually be producing my own and selling the excess to the store.

Do you still have your beardeds, corns and leopard geckos? If not, what happened to them?

The Bearded dragon lived at my mother's house. I would come over several times a week to clean the cage, feed, and handle him. Whenever I was not there, my mother was in charge of feeding him. She fed him about 70% of the time. She decided the reptile carpet he was on didn't look nice so she switched him to a crushed walnut shell without my permission and he ended up swallowing some. He got impacted and after 2 weeks of vet visits, intensive care on my part (hand feeding him and watering him) he died. I have never forgiven her for that and she has never apologized. My fiance and I both want a bearded dragon but we are not sure if we want to buy from a petstore, online breeder, or at a reptile show.

The leopard gecko I had for a while but before I moved into my own place I decided I wanted to focus on my ball pythons and so I sold her. I plan on getting another leopard gecko in the future. I miss her a lot.

That was a question I wanted to ask. I am glad you did Robin. Didn't you have some problems with some of your other pets recently too? Sometimes I think I want to try something new and after really researching it and looking at my current responsibilities I realize I could use the time and money improving their habitat or saving it for an unforseen vet trip.

    Re: Store Credit
Yes. We have three in fact. Zim, that I've had forever. Priest, who we got from the store where I have the credit, and Sram, also from the store. Sram is Zim's future date. :)

We've been having issues with the rats recently, but that is all. We are working on getting another rack built so we can stop keeping the rats in tanks. This store credit can't be used towards a rat rack though. They don't sell/build them. My roommate is going to build it for me.
