gorgeous critter!
I would LOVE to own that beauty!
-
Re: You must see this "Albino Chrondro"
I believe it was Damon Salceies that was the first in the world to produce the albino chondro.
Beautiful animal!

Re: You must see this "Albino Chrondro"
Very cool! I don't think I've seen an albino before. Does their color change as they mature like normals?
-
Re: You must see this "Albino Chrondro"
as cool as it looks, im sorry to be the bad guy here, but i think it could be a fake.
-
Re: You must see this "Albino Chrondro"
I don't think its fake because I have seen high resolution photos of albino GTP's and they look like that. ;) I believe this year the hets from the pairings in th US are for sale for something like $12,000 each or something like that. lol

Re: You must see this "Albino Chrondro"
I love chondros! I wish I had the knowledge(and money) to keep and breed them.
Ahh... ...One day!
I would love to see more adult pictures of them to get a true representation of what they look like as adults. The March '08 Reptiles Mag issue with them on it really sparked my interest that much more!
Beautiful animal!
Thanks for sharing!

Re: You must see this "Albino Chrondro"
Yes Last 5 years ago i saw an Albino at Damon Salceies website but don't see anymore. So this guy is a wild caught. I saw him as he is a baby he look like maroon but in that time i don't have a money to get him. Now he's still yellow ,had red pupils and already producing sperm plug.
" T " my friend he always had an amazing collection like this!!!!!!! :O

Not too hard to keep really as long as the husbandry requirements are met! Its a breeze.

A few of mine:

http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o...DSCN2507_2.jpg
http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o...y/DSCN2372.jpg

I agree with Judd, they're not too hard to keep. They're less forgiving of husbandry errors, but the husbandry requirements aren't rocket science or anything.
Breeding is another matter. Good breeders have bad seasons with nothing to show for their efforts. Adults don't keep cranking out clutches year after year and don't always live long after breeding. Check out Greg Maxwell's site, look at his collection of blue chondros, check out the bios on each snake and you'll see most of them aren't among the living anymore. And Greg is one of the best.
I haven't bred any yet. My female needs until the 2010 season before I can begin. Based on conversations with successful breeders, my chances for success with just one female are low.

Re: You must see this "Albino Chrondro"
I think any alibno Morelia, is just breathtaking!!!!

Re: You must see this "Albino Chrondro"
so what is the average lifespan of one? without breeding? with breeding?
-
Re: You must see this "Albino Chrondro"
what are the different variations of adults?
-
Re: You must see this "Albino Chrondro"
Letīs please focus on this Albino Chondro, because this is really a very, very special animal.
Itīs like having a (really) blue or red BP.
Barakujang,
Thank you very much for posting those.
Do you have any other info and/pics or a link to another site where there is more info/pics on this animal ?
Looks like a Biak-type. Do you know where it was collected ?
Are you sure it was a red neonate ? Makes it even more extraordinary to be an albino starting as a red neo
On a side note, you are right about the first one to be bred on the US. It was done by D. Salceies, and the snakeīs name is Floyd. Several Albino projects are on course by many well known breeders, but to the best of my knowledge no other albino chondros has hatched yet (if they have, no one realeased the info)
-
Re: You must see this "Albino Chrondro"
A correction to my post:
In fact, there is another knowed albino, called "Midas" and bred and owned by Trooper Walsh. Midas is an uncle of Floyd
And this Summer two more albinos were hatched from a clutch of Floydīs parents ( Meraukes ).
So, there are a few out albinos already in the US.
Now, I believe the info is accurate.

about 15 years life span... breeding your females can be like 10 year. Of course theres exceptions in the animal world. but this is a rough est.

I agree, this is one gorgeous snake, best looking "biak" locale type I've ever seen!!
I will one day own an albino GTP also, all I need is just one! Working on it here, maybe 08/09 breeding season will be the year!

Hello
I know that is very old. But how does it continue? No project is? Or fake?
