fedex shmedex

Omg I am so frustrated!!! My new female was supposed to come in the mail today at 10:30 this morning... but of course since its my luck They lost her package!!!! now I am emailing fedex and calling them and they are not being very helpful. they are saying that she will arrive in the next 2-3 days!!:mad::mad::mad: I am totally hissed! I'm so worried about her I just want her to be safe! Now I have to miss school to stay and see if she arrives ..... I hope everything goes ok...:( Please keep Calypso in your thoughts. Let our good will bring her home safely!

FedEx is getting worse and worse.....

I disagree that my initial assessment of FedEx service getting worse and worse is too harsh. But maybe perhaps it is relevant to each paying user???
Super cool that your beautiful snakes came to you safe and sound...and they are gorgeous!!!
However, for those who have not received the services that they paid for.....well, that's harsh.
Seems like I am hearing increased grumblings from customers on this forum and others about a decline of services.
I am also hearing from different vendors how FedEx is radically increasing the cost of their services when the vendor contracts come up for renewal.
It just doesn't seem right....

They lost the package? Where was it in transit?
Tell them it is a perishable animal and they need to find it as quickly as possible.

Inform the shipper that his animal is lost, perhaps they would know better what to do to get Fedex to help.

Also, never hurts to just call back, when one person doesnt answer your question, you can always ask for someone else.

Agreed. You need to let them know that the 'package' is a live animal sensitive to temperatures. More often than not, they don't even know... I also agree that you need to call the shipper and let them know.

I've noticed an increasing laxness in FedEx as well. whether it's due to the storms in the SE or just bad management I don't know... but I do know that the more people who get on them, the better the chances they'll shape up. :) At least, we can hope.

I dont think it would piss them off if I kept calling until I got some answers as to where the animal was... Given they screwed up to begin with...

Have you contacted the breeder/seller? Are they registered to ship live animals?

my breeder is the one who informed me that they "lost" it. I think they are qualified. his name is shawn TheVipershouse2 on fauna classifieds. He is just as worried about her as i am. man I hope I hear something soon....

Very sorry to hear about your situation. I would call and hound them until I get an ETA. The person answering the phone isnt necessarily gonna be the person who handles the package.

Unfortunately there is always a possibility of human error when shipping. I have been very fortunate to never have a major problem but there is always the possibilty.

When you become certified you sign alot of papers which eliminates Fed Ex from any liability for live animals. It stinks but there arent many other options(legally)

Trying not to get off topic here, but of course they are going to start charging more, Is a candy bar still 10cents, is a gallon of gas 4 dollars and change, yeah it is.....thats why prices are increasing.

Not that this has anything to do with Fedex's pagage losing dilema, but if they handle 1,000,000 pagages a day (not real numbers) I would expect a few errors.

The fact that its a live animal does make the issue a little more prudent, but if it were my Ipod that got misplaced while being put on a truck, the issue wouldnt be that big of a deal.


I seriously hope that you get your package, stories like this are so sad, especially when its the snake that youve wanted for a while.

OMG you have no Idea! I have been looking for a female ( the perfect female) for months now... do you have a fedex tracking number? If you track it online it should show you where it was when they lost it, and then you can call that terminal directly to find out what happened. And remember that you are the customer, so you don't have to worry about coming off as mean. Plus I wouldn't worry about them doing something to the package just to spite you because like someone above said, the people you talk to will likely never handle the actual packages.

What part of the country/world are you in? Hopefully the temps will still be warm enough that your little one will be ok. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Keep us posted on what you find out...

I am doing what i can in my power to find out what the hell is going on with the package as to no avail myself right now .Getting alot of Fed Ex, BS ..

but good thing for the little girl my packaging ( is and has ) been pretty reliable ..

She is finally in KS! thank goodness! She is at the sorting facility near my house now! now its a waiting game.... :banana::banana::banana: I'm so pumped! .... I had to pay $50 shipping for this BS... oh well. as long as she is going to be ok...

I'm glad everything worked out, and again, I didn't mean to be accusing you in any way. I was just trying to cover all the bases and figured maybe you just made an honest mistake and forgot to ship or something. Just trying to cover all the bases.

I was ripped off $100 on an ebay auction one time when the package "got lost in the mail" and I never suspected it was the seller because they contacted me multiple times and "tried to help find the package". It wasn't until two weeks later when they had the exact sime item (a one of a kind, unique item) up for sale again.

my roomy just got an exchange for his spider today fedx
got himself a pin stripe instead came in fedex before 12 so there 50/50 here

Hey guys! sorry i didn't get back to this thread... Musta slipped my mind! Anyway sheis home safe and sound and is getting a good mist at the moment via the mister in my hand. I would like to report that she is doing GREAT! I love her so much i cant stop watching her!

If anyone was looking at one of TheVipersHouse's stuff for sale I can tell you that his snakes are Top Notch! I love my normal *spider sibling* I think she is the prettiest normal in the entire world. This guy CARES!!! A TON!!!! When I was waiting for my baby to arrive he called and informed me that he had already been on the phone with fedex multiple times trying to figure out why I hadn't gotten her yet.. Before I even knew that there was a problem!! He is awesome! I will definatly be buying from him again!

When you become certified from Fed Ex to ship animals you sign a waiver that they are not responsible for death or delays. You have no choice to sign this or you wont be certified so thats how they get out of it. So there is not much you can do.
