One of Those "What Should I Get" Threads
Sometime this Fall/Winter I want to get another snake. I'm not quite sure what I want to get. If I decide I want a snake I've never kept before, I will definitely be doing my research before bringing one home. I'm open to suggestions, but I draw the line at hots and really big snakes. (nothing over 9ft) Here is what I currently have...

    Ball Pythons:
    0.3 Normal
    1.0 100% Het. Pied Normal
    0.1 Pinstripe
    1.1 Pastel
    1.0 Spider

    0.1 Colombian Red Tail Boa

    Corn Snakes:
    0.1 Snow
    1.0 Hypo
    1.0 Pastel (Ghost)

What are you looking for in your next snake? something on the larger side? something you can take out and handle a lot? a display snake? or just something weird out of the norm? whats your price range?

I voted "other" because any conventional choices have no appeal to me personally, and there's tons more species than what you mentioned: dumerils boas, rosy boas, childrens pythons, spotted pythons, womas, amazon tree boas, emerald tree boas, hog island boas, rainbow boas, Pacific boas sp, rubber boas,

Well, knowing your situation with your roomies and the possibility of you being found out by your land lords, I think you should stick to an easy to care for and small Sand Boa.

I didn't vote but I just would narrow it down in my mind to a list of different snakes that I would like to own and would go to a show with money in my pocket. I would look around and see if somebody had a nice snake at the right price for me.

Actually the situation with the roommates is pretty much over. They are finding their own place and will hopefully be signing a lease by the end of the month and be moved out by October.

As far as what I want in a snake. I want a snake that is not too large, preferably able to handle it, but its not a requirement. Since I already have 8 ball pythons and 3 corn snakes, I want something out of my "ordinary". My price range is no more than $500.

I would go with some sort of locality boa. I was over at BT's (BT40142) house last night and saw Corn Island boas and was amazed with them. The dwarf boas are very awesome.

I made a poll like this earlier and the answer was: carpet python. I think a carpet would be a great new addition to your collection. Either that or a blood python. :) Of course that's just me.

I would get either a GTP or Kenyan Sand Boa. They are both awesome snakes.

You should get what YOU want, not what one of us says you should get. If something grabs your attention then go with it.

Yeah I agree a blood would be a great addition. My Sumatran blood is a big fat puppy dog calm as can be with tons of personality and although being heavy bodied they stay small enough for you to handle comfortably.

I think you should get a ball python!!! :D

Specifically a Mojave, piebald, or a spider.

Mojave because they are one of my favorites (and they are afforable!)
Piebald, because they are my favorite, some day when I win the lotto, snake
Spider, because you have a female spider

I honestly think with your lease agreement, that you are already breaking, that you maybe should not get a new snake... You could easily be evicted immediately without prior notice.

What if you get caught, where do all these snakes find homes?

I doubt we'll get evicted once we get the snakes back into the second bedroom. I've noticed that this complex doesn't do a lot of maintenance unless you request it first. And if we get evicted, I have two places the snakes can go until I can get a new place, no worries.

I will pick what I want, but I was just wondering what people's opinions are. If someone recommends a burmese, I'm definitely not going to go out and get one just because that's what someone said I should get. I just like suggestions. Who knows, maybe someone will vote 'Other' and suggest a snake I've never heard of and I go and research it and find a new love. :)

I see the GTP is very popular. My fiance and I both want one, but we know very little about them. We shall start researching soon. :)

Green tree python seems to be winning. My fiance and I were talking about it today and even he wants one. We know little to nothing about them so I'm going to start my research. Anyone have any good links? Or pictures? :)
