What's the biggest snake you would like to have?

So, what is the biggest snake you would like to get and why that snake of that size?

Me personally, I love big snakes, heck I love all snakes, but I have to limit myself to a certain size (8 feet, but no bigger than 10) simply because I am unable to house or feed or manage a snake like a burm or mainland retic. So, the biggest species that I will be able to get are columbian boas ( not many though, may three or so.) I like them for their size, to me they are perfect, not too big nor not to small. I have also been considering for the longest time about a dwarf male retic, but I am not completely sure about one of those.(still in the deciding process on them)

Dont get me wrong, bps are great fun and all, but they are not the only ones I am after.:salute:

Blackheaded python. They get 10-12 feet(I think) but are not hugely bulky like burmese, retics, or boas.
That's about it for me. I'm hoping to have enough money to get one next year.

I would love some big snakes, but I am limited to snakes I can handle alone because my husband does not like snakes.

So, under 6 feet for heavy-bodied snakes
sky's probably the limit for slender snakes like colubrids.

An olive python or black headed python.

My male BCA is the biggest I'll go

A Black Blood Python, Male or Female (im putting a down payment on a male tomorrow). This is probably the largest im going to go for awhile. A nice larger boa in my future isnt unlikely though :)

I'd like a red tail one day. That's about as big as I can go since my wife is not fond of snakes at all. At the moment she's put a 5-6ft restriction on what I can keep. I'm sure I can talk her into it eventually.:gj:

I like one too! To the OP when you say big as in length? or weight/ girth? :)
Anyhow, both my future snake will be big. A female Suri/Guyana - will be my longest snake, and a Python Curtus - will be my heaviest snake! At the moment I'm gaining more experience on my only bp. :snake:

I already have the biggest I will ever want or have room for.........my pair of RTBs- BCI - Duece and Garnet.

For me it's a carpet python. I have female borneo stp, and that's the biggest and heaviest i'll go. The carpet will most likely get longer, but will not be nearly as girthy. Yeah, I want one pretty bad!

Heh... biggest I CAN get would be full grown female BPs

Biggest I would WANT would be a Salmon or Pink Pastel Red tail boa. But, since I have NO room now and future space would be allotted to a BTS first, I probably won't be able to get one.

a lav albino retic and/or a yellow or green anaconda. it really all depends on the temperament of the snake cuz of their size someday. I dont know bout you but there is no way i want a 20 ft snake with a bad attitude someday HAHA

Hmmm.... an adult female BP is probably my limit :)

I already have mine as well...a pair of Dumerils boas! They top out about 8-9 ft, and are a nice, unconventional alternative to RTBs, which everyone and their brother has.

If I ever had space to put one in I would love to have a tiger retic, I love biiiiiiiiig snakes but right now my ball pythons are all i have space for in my tiny apartment. Unless I could rig up a retic cage that would go under my bed............ hmmmmmm

I have one male burm at 11 feet. He's my baby. then I have a female albino burm. Shes gonna get huge! Right now she's about 3 1/2 years old and shes at 9 feet. Her name is fluffy cause she is......

one of the larger subspecies of the carpet python that will reach 8+ feet and stay relatively light to handle on my own

biggest snake i would get would be a boelen's python because i love those things! or maybe even a yellow anaconda because they're not too large for a "large" snake.

I am a large snake FREAK! My fav species are retics, and once I move out, go to school, and settle down...retics and annies out the wazzoo!:D

The biggest snake I'd want is a boa! Though I definitely will wait until I am [spatially and financially] able to house one.

No burms, 'tics, or condas for me... They are all beautiful but I definitely couldn't handle something that large.

Black headed python for sure!

i love the size of my adult female coastals... 8-9 feet and as big around as a softball or so. impressive but not overbearing.

balls are as big as I am getting. I actually am not for the big bad boys I like small and fat balls and kings are my favs I have corns but ( I dont like them )im selling

Nothing definitely over 12 feet.
And nothing over 10 feet at this point in time.

I'll probably get about 4-5 large snakes and be done.
Boa, Blood, Carpet, BRB, female boa.

Well, I currently only have a ball python and the rents put a size limit of 1 foot on snakes I can have lol, but I'd like to get either a scrub python or olive python some day.

By biggest one now is a female boa that is around 7 feet and around 15 - 20 pounds. She is a little difficult to handle. Luckily she is very docile. I am also thinking of getting a pair of black-headed python, but would not go any bigger than that. The bigger the snake, the fewer I would have in my collection. So if I were to own black-heads, I would only own a pair.

Super Dwarfs get about 6-7 feet, they are very nice, extremely manageable, and have skin that is as soft as silk.

Yellow anacondas are amazing to me. As well as black headed pythons, especially the axanthic black headed python. If I am ever fortunate enough, I would get those two as well.:D

No for reals though, Id really like an olive python, but they are just sooo pricey!

No space left in the snake room. Hmmmmm do I really need a kitchen? I would love to own a burm someday.

I'm gradually moving up, next will be a RTB, or maybe a blood, then probably burms, retics, and finally a nice female green anaconda! (once I have my own place and enough space and such)

A female RTB will likely be as big as I'm willing to go.

As for big stuff I have kept burms, retics, carpets, boas, and olive pythons. Out of those the most enjoyable for me were by far the olives. Those things are just so cool, but if you want them to breed they are far from easy.

As for something I haven't kept yet I would like to give blackheads a try. I have always wanted them, but back when I first saw them the price made them only a dream. Ah another year or two and I think I will have to pick some up.

I love all snakes (always have) but large snakes are not something I'm looking to get into. When I was younger I thought they would be cool to have, but as I've aged, I see the cons far more than the pros.
Ball pythons are about the largest thing I feel like dealing with right now. :)

I'd love to have a male albino RTB, but have no intention of ever breeding them. I'm kicking myself for passing up one with a tiny kink in his tail at a show this past weekend for $250, but the guy selling wasn't all that nice so I passed.

This maybe a lil OT, but for most of us that just simply dont have the room for anacondas. There could be an alternative, there is a species of anaconda that I believe resembles the green anaconda, however it only grows to 4 feet, its called a beni anaconda. Now the sad part is that due to Boliva's city restrictions, we are not allowed to import them into the US. :(

At the moment, 6 1/2 feet is as large as I'd want but as I get older it'll probably be 8 feet as my limit unless I have a husband that likes snakes, in which case somewhere near 11 feet. ;) Hopefully my future hubby likes snakes though because I'm shooting for an Olive Python later.

I got my one 80 gram red tail boa baby... she will be my one and only BIG snake.

I would love to have a yellow annie one day. I will wait until we own a home and I can build the right type of enclosure for it. I'd love a green annie, but they just get too large for me. Now, my largest is a male BCI but I would get a female BCI.
