    Ball Python Breeder Game
I'm new to this forum, so here's a little bit of info about me.

I'm a reptile enthusiast and a website developer. I've kept Ball Pythons several times before, but I've never really worked with them, if you know what I mean... just kept them as pets.

Well, now I'm developing this Ball Python Breeder Game website, and I would like some advice from someone who is an experienced keeper and breeder of Ball Pythons. The kind of advice I'm looking for is appropriate food size for a range of snake sizes, growth rates, etc.

The Ball Python Breeder Game will eventually encompass most aspects of being a Ball Python Breeder, i.e. feeding, husbandry, breeding, genetics, and selling your Ball Pythons, and I hope it will be a great learning tool. Currently, the game is set up for raising Ball Pythons, and the website development time-line for completion is one to two months.

To make things fun, I would like to have a contest to see who can raise their "virtual" Ball Pythons the best. I already have a couple of players, but I'm looking for a few more.

If you would like to participate or offer advice, please pm me.

But it sounds like he's talking more about raising them up though. Not just a numbers game like pythonkings is.

Sorry, http://www.pythonkings.nl/ is NOT the link!

    It's a new game!

I do not want to give out the link right now because the game is still in development, but I will post the link soon.

Just curious for those that signed up are you still playing? Are you enjoying it? I started out but it was more complicated than I like my games to be.

    Re: Ball Python Breeder Game
Here is a progress update on the Ball Python Breeder Game:

Phase I - Buying, Raising, Breeding and Selling Ball Pythons

The development of this phase will be complete by mid to end of next week. At that time I will be looking for a few additional players for testing all aspects of this phase.

Phase II - Advanced Breeding and Genetics

During this phase, I will be focusing on Genetics and the production of Morphs. I expect the development of this phase will take three to four weeks to complete.

At the end of the development/testing for Phase I and II, I will restart the game and open it up to anyone who wants to play.

For those of you who would like to peek at some of the development, the URL of the game is:

    http://galleriesonlinetm.net/ballPythonBreeder/

PLEASE DO NOT REGISTER BECAUSE YOU WILL BE REGISTERING FOR GALLERIES ONLINE, NOT THE GAME!

I WILL POST AGAIN ON THIS THREAD WHEN THE GAME IS READY.

To see what's going on, please select a member and a gallery. For example, select Member: Seneschal and Gallery: My Animals or Member: Morbid Blackadder and Gallery: My Animals.

You could also select me, Member: Web Wheeler and Gallery: My Animals, however, my results are mixed with some of my testing, but I'm about two weeks ahead of everyone else in my results.

Some of you who have played the Python Kings game may be a bit disappointed because the game I'm developing is more like the real thing, being a Ball Python Breeder. It's much slower to play than the Python Kings game, and you don't get clutches of 30+ eggs!

On the other hand, I think the results of my game are more realistic and educational. And, I believe my game has genuine research potential. But I'll let you be the judge of that!

I welcome your suggestions and comments.

    Thank you!

Of course I don't know how you have it all set up since I haven't been testing it for you, but I'm guessing the pictures in the gallery are the players snakes in the game. One suggestion would be to use random pictures, so all the normals don't look the same. I wouldn't think you'd have much trouble getting pictures of normals from people to help you out.

    Re: Ball Python Breeder Game
Thanks for that suggestion, m00kfu! I would like to make the game as interesting as possible! Perhaps getting some photos of different sized Ball Pythons would be good as well. Right now, though, my focus is on developing the basics of the game. Once the development is complete, I will implement your suggestion.

There is a "Store", called "Ball Python World", in the Ball Python Breeder game where you will see photos of the various Ball Python Morphs that will be introduced, over time, during the game.

In my last post, I forgot to include some navigation information, so here it is:

    1. Select a Member and a Gallery and click "View" - this will take you to a gallery of thumbnail images

    2. Clicking on the thumbnail image will enlarge it and allow you to browse forward and backward in the gallery

    3. Alternatively, clicking "View Image Details", underneath each thumbnail image, will take you to the "Galleries onLine Image Details" page

    4. Clicking the image in the "Galleries onLine Image Details" page will take you to the "Life onLine Animal Records" page. At this point you have two choices:

4a. Clicking the "View Life onLine Animal Details" button will display a diary of the animal's life, or

4b. Clicking the image again will take you to the "Breeding onLine Animal Genealogy" page where you will see all pairings and offspring of the animal. Please note: all the images on the "Breeding onLine Animal Genealogy" page are also clickable links. For an example genealogy of a Ball Python Breeder animal, please select Member: Web Wheeler and Gallery: My Animals, and then navigate to the "Breeding onLine Animal Genealogy" page of any of my "Breeding Stock" or "Offspring".

    Thank you!

Wow looks great man, definitely sign me up for when it comes out! I've got some pics of my normal BPs that I could donate if you'd like. Most of the good ones are of a 1600g female (if that makes any difference lol). Keep us updated!

Oh one question, where are the morphs coming from? I see you've got a few basic recessives a few double co-doms and a couple of recessive X co-doms. Is there like some sort of random genes thrown into the normal or WC balls or do you have to buy the morphs separately? It'd be cool if there was like an African contact that you could work out deals with to get new morphs, or some sort of auction system for them. IDK just an idea.

Thanks for your compliments! I would like to see your photos... can you email one or two to me?

My intention is to introduce morphs, over time, during the course of the game. Also, as new morphs appear in real life, I will introduce them into the game as well.

When the game begins, there will be four types of animals available from Ball Python World: WC Normals, CBB Normals, CBB Het Albinos and CBB Albinos. From that point on, new genes will be introduced randomly in CBB Offspring and WC Normals.
