    Next Corn??
I've been on a corn craze with these topics lately.. SORRY, when I get my 4 new balls (that I've already bought zomg) I'll be all backwards-like..
So in Tinley I'm going to be picking up my balls from Tim Bailey, and before hand I'll be getting a snow corn snake shipped to me.

HOWEVER. In Tinley I'll be on the look out for a Fire Skink (or other cool lizard), a western hog, and one or two corn morphs.

So here are my choices of my future morphs? Which one do YOU think I should get?

    Thanks everyone!

Do you have any breeding plans, or goals with what you'd like to produce down the line?

I currently have a Crimson (not proven) and a Amelanistic and a Snow.
My plans are to hopefully produce a few ranges of morphs, but I don't have anything to in depth planned for myself.

Corn snakes, for me, are my 'beginning breedings' which I will take seriously and work hard at, but before I make a huge mistake with ball pythons, I'd rather do it with corn snakes.
Plus I have a market for corn snakes, if by chance some do not sell.

Pied corn snakes.. there are like 5 in existence and how much do you think they would cost? :8:

I think I might do something with a bloodred. I'm not sure yet though.. I love that red color, and blood stripes are just beautiful.

Well, if you're a member of www.cornsnakes.com do a search for 'pied-sided' and it comes up with plenty! right off the bat was an ad for a breeding group.

I joined them, but they are just..
A bit messy almost? Wayy too many mods.. at least I think thats what the red names are.

The thing about pieds its not proven, it just turns up now and then, which is hard to work with.

    Edit: Nevermind, their all contributers.

It's been proven to be genetic. What hasn't been proven if its a separate locus from bloodred; so far its only showed up in bloodred snakes.

I say get something like maybe a granite or fire. You could make avalanches down the road by breeding it to your snow.

Hate to tell you this, but you won't see any hogs in Tinley. They're on the no-sell list. Don't shoot the messenger! :please:

Hahaha, that's what I thought too.
    Then I talked to Wes.

And he gave me a strict talking, saying otherwise.
Let me see if I can find that post..

For corns you really need some bloodreds. You have to be careful though because there is a lot of variation to bloodreds. Look for babies with the grayest heads and darkest overall appearance if you want to end up with the darkest red adults. I've got a trio from Kathy Love that are deep bloody red color that produces really nice babies every year and I've also got an adult from another source that is no where near as nice looking.

It's the same set of rules.
So, if theres anyone like Wes at Tinley, then they will probably be there. It says 'no rear-fanged' but I think it's a load.

I think I might go with bloodred, as I love the coloration.
Should I get an ACTUAL bloodred in your opinion or a striped bloodred?

    Another thing funky about NARBC:
I was looking at the rules and it says 'no birds or mammals'. Then I was looking at the pictures and lo and behold there's a parrot on someones shoulder.
    Hmmmm.

Last year I over heard one of the coordinators telling a vendor they can't sell hognoses. I was actually thinking about getting one myself last year but I actually didn't see anyone selling them. The coordinator mentioned it had something to do with a law in Illinois.

I've searched laws in Illinois and I found nothing.
But I've seen people with possession of venomous in Illinois before, and have seen people selling them in IL before. So I don't know.

    I like candycanes too!
    Thought I think that's later. ;]
