    For your RBI rack owners...
Even though it stays between 82 and 86 in the snake room, the floor gets cold starting in September and is freezing in the winter time. I finally got around to building pedestals for my Reptile Basics racks. Just 2x4s with OSB on top and R13 insulation in the underside. Now those bottom tubs are staying just as warm as the others! Thanks to my buddy Rich for the idea!

when you muster up the energy to spray paint them, use wood putty to cover the screws, sand it and spray paint it flat black. It'll look like it was made for the racks!

I need to do the same. I usually just don't use the bottom shelves when it's cold. However, I need to.

Re: For your RBI rack owners...
I have carpet so I didn't have a problem with temps... but I did have a problem with the bottom tubs getting stuck from holding all the weight of the racks stacked on them.. I also want to be able to move the racks around when it comes time to rearrange, so i got my dad to help me put them on wheels (Thanks Daddy! :P ).

I've got my racks sitting on 3/4" melamine boards but the bottom ones still get a bit cool. I'll have to do something like that myself. Maybe throw a big chunk of insulation under there as well.

Rich you need a break once in a while right?
I picked up a 2nd 32QT rack to go with my other one a few weeks ago and it's top notch also :D. I think it might be an older design though because the tubs don't seem to slide in and out quite as easily but still freaking great! I think this year I'll be getting an RBI hatchling rack, 15qt rack and maybe another 32qt lol. Love your stuff!

Back on topic, I've got mine on carpet so I don't really have a problem but just to be on the safe side I don't have anyone in the very bottom tub (course I don't have spacial issues currently but that's gonna change VERY soon...... 2 shows next month lol)
