RANT!!! Why don't the Ball Gods like me???

Alright, I want to preface this by saying I am not upset by hatching out anything... I am grateful that they are all alive and beautiful.

Well!!!

I had a big clutch from my really light female to my Bell Line Pastel. The ONLY clutch of pastels I wanted to do, to see how yellow I could get this particular line of animals. They do NOT fade out at the top, but turn a nice buttery yellow. Not vibrantly yellow out of the egg, but they look sweet, and I plan on working them into some cool looking projects.

So I get NINE eggs! YAY!!!!

Cut them, OH MY GOODNESS, 8 pastels out of the egg, YAY!!!!

8.1, 7.1 Pastels. :O


What DID I DO TO DESERVE THESE SEX ODDS???? :confused:

Don't worry it will even itself out in another clutch.

Seems like despite my awesome odds in one clutch -- I have less than awesome odds in the next -- to where it all washes out to even in the end.

Sorry you didn't get more girls but the boys are very nice looking indeed. :gj:

Seems like a couple people don't quite get the photos I posted.

THE PASTEL MALE that produced this clutch is the faded one on the left.. And the one in the photo alone.

The female that I bred him to is not pictured at all.

He is next to a Lemon to show the stark difference in coloration, and one that I was trying to breed for.

im going to sound like a broken record, congrats on the clutch, sorry about the odds. yet another note, seems like Males are pretty easy to sell, and you have some nice looking little men in there.

Odds weren't good for me either out of 5 co-dom hatching's only one was a female. I guess we'll have better luck next season.:cool:

So, you've got 30 dollars worth of Pastels. That's not so bad.

Of course, there is one clutch that should make up for it.

Geeze Heather you weren't kidding about your odds this year. Gorgeous babies though. :)

It happens... I got whipped on my last few clutches... The Cinnacal clutch was ALL girls and only 1 male calico out of 7 eggs (The Cinnacal would have been the male i wanted most for the year!). I just hatched a Spider x Albino clutch with 6 eggs and got all females (3 spiders, 3 hets), not really a bad thing since it all works out in the end but i have breed these two 3 years in a row and have never produced a male Spider Het Albino uggggh! Now im just gonna buy an Albino Spider lol

But i will say i have got some killer odds over the course of the year... Basically hit on every other morph i needed! And with my 3 clutch crap streak out of the way, the next few should be sweet! Calico x Woma 1 clutch away!

At least you got a ton of pastels. They could all be normal. I have had 2 lesser clutches so far this season with a total of 12 eggs. I have hatched 1 male lesser, one normal female and 10 NORMAL males.

How bout this one!!! 10 days ago I cut a Bee x Pastel breeding. Six eggs -- 2 normals, 2.1 Pastels -- 1 kinked - near dead Killer Bee. I made the mistake of popping him. Of course -- a BOY... I really do believe that clutches do even out in the end. That fact was not doing me much good at the time. NEW RULE: :snake: All kinked animals are always the gender you DIDN'T WANT!!!:( You don't even need to check.

Heather be happy you got some pastels. I was on the phone earlier with a friend that bred a lesser to a normal and got 7 normals!
It coulda been worse, dont get negative my dear, there is always someone with crappier odds.

Ok Heather I didnt want to do this but I must. I am on my way to your place right now to take all those evil males off your hands. lol. Hey its better than my odds. I still dont have anything breedable. :tears: Well I do but they are in QT for another couple months.

Wow, I was all prepared to complain about my pastel breeding this year, out of 14 eggs, 0.2.1 pastels........but you my friend, have been squarely shat on by the ball gods on that clutch. :O

Thats ruff, but im sure the ball gods have a plan for you so dont worry keep your head up, ;):D

I bred a Spider to normal and got all normals, but the good thing only one male and the rest were female!:D
