Your next animal (Anaheim show)
Just wondering what everyone gonna be looking for next weekend at the Anaheim show. I think I might try to find one of several things. First off a Lucy texas ratsnake, Jungle carpet, or a Dumerils. Just thought it would be fun to see what everyones looking forward to getting. Also if everyones aware of what others are looking for they can keep an eye out for them for you. :). Look forward to seeing you all again. I dont think my girl friend wants me to get anymore animals. lol. I have added 7 snakes since we all last met in june. lol.

Well, I'm "looking" to sell a bunch of False Water Cobras. Get a couple of those. I'll make you an excellent deal.

I know they arent dangerous to people but I thought that you could not sell any venomous snakes at the expos. Please let me know If I am wrong But I could have swore that I read that at one of the shows before. Or do they not consider these venomous since they are relatively harmless?

Don't you know who I am? Rules do NOT apply to I, the Great Me.
Actually, they do allow sales of rearfanged. That's why you see so many hognoses too.

What's your point?
Also, it is NOT illegal throughout the state to sell and possess venomous reptiles. It varies from city to city and county to county.
I will be there. Hognoses will be there. We have always been there and most likely always will be.

I was reading that a while ago when I was looking to buy tickets.

I hope so Wes, I love FWCs and Hogs and hope to see them at the Tinley show as well.
I didn't think they were illegal, because I've seen people selling them from Cali as well as IL, so I'm kinda wondering what the writer of that webpage is thinking.

Re: Your next animal (Anaheim show)
The reason it is in the write up that no rear fanged are allowed is for legal liability.
If someone gets bitten and has a bad reaction the promoter can go right to his rules and show that the snake was not supposed to be there and how could he possibly know what each and every vendor brought?
Or so I was once told by a promoter when I asked him why I was allowed in person but not on paper.

Re: Your next animal (Anaheim show)
We will be there both days. We got a room at the Marriott so we didn't have to drive home on Saturday night. That's what happens when you're old and stay up past your bedtime.
Chris, we are Looking forward to seeing you, your cute little girlfriend and everyone else, even Patrick:P You know I'm kidding Pat, I'm looking forward to seeing you and meeting your girlfriend because she seems to be as patient as I am when it comes to bringing home new children.
We hope you all are planning on hanging out and to have a drink or 2 after the show?

Re: Your next animal (Anaheim show)
i wish i was going, but unless my work is cancelled at the last minute (which happens fairly often, but still), i can't. mainly i'd love a charcoal corn, or maybe an old world rat snake of some kind.. some of those are amazing... my sister and her hubby are planning on going, so maybe i'll get them to pick up a little present for me... I know they are looking for a bloodred corn, and a lavender corn.

I'm sure one of the other Minions will have a room or a place you can put them for the evening.

You bet you can! Just make sure you bring something to smuggle them in that they will actually stay in. Remember I am not a snake lover and I'd be freaked out if one escaped. You'd be giving me a ride home.

Laurie may I ask what way you are taking to get down there?

Well now, if there's shirts even I may consider minionism.
No one said anything about shirts before. If I had known there were shirts I would have been much more in favor of this new development in Heather's Plan to Take Over the World.

Re: Your next animal (Anaheim show)
I'll be picking up a couple of wonderful things at the show!!
A boyfriend for my BP girls (put a deposit on him in Daytona, but I get to bring him home from Anaheim) and a male Underwoodisaurus milii. :D
Now to finance those, I will need to sell lots and lots of geckos!
I'm looking forward to seeing / meeting a bunch of BP.net people!!

It is so difficult to judge the traffic. Today we went down to visit my folks and they are about 20 min from Anaheim and we didn't hit a bit of traffic. Went the 405 to the 105 and back the 5 to the 118. Last year we headed to Anaheim around noon and didn't get there until 3 and never made it through the entire show . . . traffic was horrible that day. I'd suggest leaving around 8 or 9 and maybe having breakfast along the way. There are a ton of great places to eat once you get to Anaheim near the convention center.
I wish you were staying the night Pat or knew someone headed back this way Saturday night that could drop you by our house to pick up your car and we could car pool. I just need to save room to bring my Frogs back ;)
We plan on doing animal maintenance Friday night and leaving first thing in the morning Saturday (8 or 9-ish).

Re: Your next animal (Anaheim show)
Oh no worries Laurie, I appreciate it though. I mean I would love to stay both days, but Im not stressin over it.
I plan to leave here about 730, just to give me a little break time.
