I am completely bummed.

I lost mini meme

I went down to check on my hatchlings...all had shed except for the small female...she was the last one out of her egg and the runt. I opened her box and she was dead. :(

I had been monitoring this lil girl because when she absorbed her umbilicus it looked weird. It had closed up ..but there was a buldge in her upper body that really concerned me.

Apparently it was too much of a buldge for her shed to roll down over and she got suck in the shed and it killed her. It was so tight around her that I had to tear the shed skin but it was just too late.

Totally sucks.

I just wanted to share with you.

Awww Meme I'm so very sorry to read this dear. What an awful shame to have this happen to one of your lovely hatchlings. I've had young snakes pass in my hands and there's just nothing that hurts worse as a snakekeeper to know there's just somethings we cannot stop or prevent. Those were snakes though that I didn't personally hatch so I cannot begin to imagine how much worse you are hurting to lose one of your own.

Big hugs dear, I wish there was any words that would ease this sadness but there really aren't. The only thing we can offer you is a community here of caring people that truly do understand how much those precious little snakes really mean.
