    Professions?
So what is it that everyone here does for a living?

I'm currently unemployed :(. I relocated from Richmond, VA to Atlanta, GA cause all my family is out here and I want to go to GA Tech. However I am basically a IT Professional. I used to work for a mid-sized computer manufacture called Velocity Micro. They bought out the company I was working for (Overdrive PC).

I work as a sales call center employee for a local phone company (AT&T)... catering only to small business owners.

If you arent totally screwed up in the head, this job will make you either suicidal or drunk on a daily basis....

Many things, whatever pays. I work at PetCo, but go around town mowing lawns, doing handyman stuff, borrowing my friends truck and picking up used pallets from grocery stores and stuff after shipments and sell them to various shipping companies... pretty much anything that will net me that little extra money to pay tuition/rent/car/gas/food/snake food/ etc... lol

I've done call centers, they're stressful but the money isn't always bad.

I work as a bookseller in Barnes and Noble. I've been there for two years.

My dream is to work exclusively with animals as a full time job, with the focus being on reptiles and my rodents. Used to want to be a veterinarian, but there is too much school involved with that.

I would love to be a full time stay at home mom. Just one problem. I don't have kids yet. The hubby and I want kids but we are waiting for him to complete a little bit more school first.

Photography must be fun. It would be fun to learn something like that.

I am a full time waste of time... in other words a college student. :)

Currently going through an upheaval of the plans, since the powers that be got a lot stricter, but I am DETERMINED to work with animals in some way!
Actually, since my prior dream of a wildlife refuge probably won't pan out, what I'd most like to do is have my own education setup where I take animals to schools and such to teach people about reptiles and set up an educational petting zoo here and there. :D We shall see...

OH its so awesome. I LOVE it. I get to spend the most important years with them, teaching them, molding them into little kindhearted, respectful, caring people. Its so much fun watching them grow and seeing all the things they are accomplishing and the people they are becoming. There is nothing better in the world.

I can't wait for the photography. There are like 500 classes I want to take lol.:D

I recentlly left my previous job as a Field Service Engineer and took a new job as an Advanced Generation Specialist. (Basically a Power Plant Electrical Engineer) Due to the fact my new job is actually supplying a service to the public instead of an industry I am not allowed to take the engineer title here as I know what I know from experience not a college degree. Pay is good. Hours are long. Stress is high. Rewards can be big. I hope to eventually work my way up to system generation specialist.

I also work as a ship control supervisor when we are at sea. Right now I am enjoying some shore duty, so I am not attached to a ship. :taz:

My main job is making custom lighting and modifying European lighting to CSA and UL standards for sale in Canada... but thats new. At the moment I am still training for it. It's fun. I get to work with tools all day (dad would be so impressed!).

I also find European lighting lines to import into Canada.

I also write, edit, and research (academia). Do not let my online writing fool you, I can write cogently if need be.

I work as an "IT Support Specialist". Basically I fix computers. I like snakes, and I think having a business on the side would be fun, but my heart .. my true passion is for the world of IT.

It comes naturally to me, and I have my position with my company through sheer knowledge. No schooling or past job experience to speak of, I just knew my stuff, impressed the boss and turned a summer position into a full time position.

I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.

I'm a Human Resources Specialist for the Department of Defense at the policy making level. We oversee the branches, divisions and agencies of the Federal goverment's civilian employees enforcing Title 5 laws and Federal regulations, and ensuring that they are understood by those that hire and fire.

My efforts to put what I learned in Bus Admin classes can be seen in my own business. (the link is below). I am setting this business up for my retirement to come later down the road. I am working on getting established now.

I am also the mother of adult children 3.1, and have 5 grandsons (no granddaughters).

I want to minor in animals science, and maybe i can also minor in a how to keep a prolific business degree( what would you call that?).

Then I plan on taking my engineering degree and finding a great job, find a nice ranch with land, start my seed and show stock herd of shorthorn maine anjous, and collect some snakes I have always wanted to have! And maybe breed a few of them...just a few.
