On Day 61, God created....

Baby Eastern hognose snakes......ha ha...

A few of these guys have finally started to pop out on Day 61 of incubation!! I was disappointed that we decided to cancel our Daytona trip because of TS Fay....but this sure made the day better ;)

I love how they act dead right out of the egg... lol! Good luck feeding them... I'm guessing you have a lot of little toads onhand for just this. Just wondering- has anyone anywhere converted them to unscented rodents?

congrats man! i love eastern hogs... do you feed toads or did you get yours to take mice? i know there's some debate as to whether or not a rodent diet is even healthy for them.

The adults I have will only eat toads as they are wild caught. I had trouble finding CBB eastern hognoses so I took the hard route.

These just hatched out a few days ago so I have not had a chance to offer the little ones anything. But now I have 22 little mouths to feed so we will see...

Awesome! Can't wait to see em out of the eggs! I never really liked these guys until I saw them in person! Great animals! I didn't know about the toad only diet tho! Blech! lol

20 are out of the egg...two in the egg...and 3 unhatched eggs...

and some have even had their first shed already. I will try to snap a few pictures when I get a chance.....these guys are little wiggle worms so they are hard to photograph.

Hopefully I can get these guys eating pinkies....we will see though.

If any of these start to turn black like the one you posted a while back, mark me down for one. ;)
