If you fail, you better pull yourself up and try it again. It's not the end of the universe that you have to take a class.
Study harder, talk to other studants that do well in class, talk to the teacher about getting some tutor time perhaps, and work at it.

Wailing that you're going to take your toys and go home isn't going to get you any better in a math class. Declaring that you'll drop out just because you have a set-back makes you seem short-sighted.
What will you do when you drop out? Sit on your hands until you have to go get a minimum wage job with no future?
Try putting all the energy you are wasting on melodrama into working hard on math instead. If you failed a math class, then you failed it. Work harder at it and pass it.
Sorry if this comes off as harsh, but you shouldn't toy with your future. You're getting a free education, take advantage of it.

Wow!! You sound like me when talking to my kids!!!! :P

I can only add to the OP that you sign on for any all tutoring that is available before or after school. Believe it or not, you'll use geometry in your daily life :)

Dude just suck it up. It's not the end of the world. You think Geometry is bad, try trigonometry. That killed me in high school :)

Geometry was the easiest for me (and kinda fun, even though I hate math) and it's the only type of math I've used on a regular basis in real life (I'm a sign maker/custom painter.) It's not the end of the world, you'll get the hang of it.

Whatever you do, you shouldn't drop out of high school. You will pretty much doom yourself to a life of poverty if you don't have at least a high school diploma.

Thats true, highschool is such a blink of an eye...

Highschool is being completed by people from all walks of life. It's a small step into adult hood, but a very important one that shouldn't be your end game. If you can't handle highschool, what can you handle?

I am in geometry too.Geometry is much easier than Algebra thats for sure!! I would take geometry over algebra any day.

I'm horrible at math and I too failed out of Algebra and my school stuck me in to a geometry class. I got the hook of it and thought it was fun. You will see that there are different ways to solve the problems. I passed.

I'm more of a black/white person, so I did much better in Algebra, Trig and Calculus. I hated Geometry. Those that do poorly in Algebra, etc tend to do really well in Geometry. Just has to do with how we process things. Geometry was too abstract for me. If you did poorly in Algebra, you're probably going to do great in Geometry.

As for dropping out - you are sealing your future if you drop out of high school. And not a very good future, I might add. In fact, if you don't have plans to attend college, be it a technical college or a university, you're going to struggle to get a good paying job. There are good jobs out there with just a high school education, but it's going to be a harder road for you in the professional world.

Do you want to spend the rest of your life saying "do you want fries with that"?

Now granted there is nothing wrong with any honest work and I'm not saying anything bad here about fast food employment but the simple fact of life is without a high school diploma (at the very least) you will have very few options in life when it comes to a job. Considering how many waking hours of your day is spent earning a living, do you really want to spend it doing something you hate just because you don't have any other choices? That, my dear, will make a math class you don't enjoy seem like a breeze believe me.

Yea, if it helps at all, I am math challenged in a bad way, I barely passed algebra by the skin of my teeth in high school, and even now I think it's just because my teacher liked me and wanted me to be able to graduate. Geometry was MUCH easier than algebra, and a lot easier to understand (for me anyway). So don't freak out just yet.

Everyone is trying to tell you the same thing.

Don't drop out. That is the easy way out that will lead you towards a path you probably won't want to be in.

I was NEVER good at math. I needed a tutor and extra help. BUT I sucked it up and got the help I needed.

And now I have my Bachelors degree (BS) and am looking forward to getting back into school!

This is a slight bump in the road, and if you quit now, what makes you think you won't quit if something else hard comes up?

    Life is FULL of dissapointments.

This is just one of them for you.

Prove the world wrong, get up, brush yourself off, and show the world that you are strong and can succeed.

Haha... oh its sad but I was a mathlete in highschool...

But why don't you ask about a tutor, you really do need math so why don't ya suck it up and ask for a tutor? You'll do fine.

    Re: ima cry
Shame, maths does suck, but it's just something you have to get through, some people get it straight away, and others take a bit of time, but usually, once it clicks in your mind, it sticks.
Hang in there... Geometry is ok. Just need to put in extra effort and get more practice, that'll help you see things the way they want you to and figure it out.
