    I would say blackback, yes.

Depends on a few things for me. Sex, weight, food taken, genetics (normal or genetic blackback).

Thats what I thought when I saw the picture, you can see the crease running down both sides of it, it looks like its either dehydrated or underfed or both.... That snake might not be a great eater...

Well, I can assure you none of the snakes are under fed lol. The snake pictured is a pretty female, black back with a nice reduced pattern. All of my snakes eat every 5 days. And I wont ever sell a snake unless its had atleast 3 meals consecutively every 5 days. If a snake goes 6 days before it eats, I start the cout over lol. Unfortunately this black back has been sold, and shipped already. I have one more black back available, Also female, but from an earlier clutch, and a little bigger.

Seriously the photo doesn't lie and that things spine is showing pretty badly. It does look like it has a belly lump from a recent meal which is a good sign, but to say it is healthy looking is a bit of a stretch. I certainly wouldn't consider advertising a snake in that condition for sale, but that is just my opinion. But at the same time don't get so defensive when a number of experienced keepers point out the obvious. It is what it is, so to speak.

Well, thats fine. The snake has been sold, and last I heard ( this morning ). Is healthy, and happy in Auburn KY. Arrived healthy, still healthy lol. Thanks for the concern though guys. I appreciate all of your input

I would have to agree -- that snake does look to be in less than stellar condition -- if it is eating every 5 days I would be sure to have a fecal done because it doesn't appear to be sticking with her. :gj:

Just an little FYI (not to start a fight or anything) But for the most part
    "black backs" are not "morphs"

The only true genetic black backs I know of are Clowns and Het Red Axanthics.

Not to say I would not get a black back, I have two females (one's posted as my Avatar) and yes, I think it would be sweet if they turned out to be genetic. :D But I really don't expect them to be

Looks as if you did not get the animal. Personaly I would have passed on it my self. However, if you do run across another black back, I say go ahead and pick it up

Re: what kind of morph is this?
I would pass on it simply because it looks underfed, it has nice coloration but not worth the hassle if its malnourished. The spine is protruding, and honestly its not good business. I certainly wouldnt hone up to being the breeder of it.. Even if the breeder does say its fed every five days photos do not lie as previously stated, I would wait and get an animal from a breeder who has healthier looking animals, but hey thats just me. I have done business with a few breeders but mostly stick to the one breeder, he consistently has healthy animals that eat great, have good weight to them, exc.. he wont even sell an animal until it has quite a few meals in it and fills out way more then the snake pictured.
