Lesser vs Ghost
If you could have either which would it be?
Were having a hard time deciding which one we want to get and would LOVE some input on the subject, we plan to own both eventually its just a matter of which were going to get this up coming weekend.

Re: Lesser vs Ghost
Ghost, they always add that little something to any morph that no other gene can match.

Re: Lesser vs Ghost
Ghost!!!....but thats just me :P

Re: Lesser vs Ghost
we can get a pair of het-ghost this week before Daytona from our breeder... that leaves us a lot more money for daytona this weekend if we werent to get the lesser... we also have a pair of mojos so really... do we need a lesser? I LOVE the lesser bees and pastel lessers but otherwise they dont knock my socks off.

Tough choice wich is why I am getting both ;)
It really depends what your plans are and what morphs you are the most excited to work with!
Prioritize!

Re: Lesser vs Ghost
:P Our goal was to produce super pastels, bel, mojos, spiders... we have all the ingredients to produce those lol.. Our only other option would be to get another spider or mojo.. were expecting pastels in the next couple months with our two gravid females. We figured we would expand a bit more... im so undecided lol
We too plan to have both in our collection by early 2009... income tax baby!!! woo hoo, making plans for it already haha

Re: Lesser vs Ghost
I love both but I picked Lesser all the way in 07 and have never regreted it. Now you do have mojo's so it does change the thinking though.

Re: Lesser vs Ghost
I would go with lessers. The BELs are amazing!
-
Re: Lesser vs Ghost
I like lessers... but then, I already have ghost.. so I'm biased towards something I desire. Both are awesome for breeding programs.

Re: Lesser vs Ghost
I love both mutations, they each make some awesome combos and are ingredients that I wanted to plug in to make some of my favorites.:gj:

Raul, LOL... I would love to get both this weekend, our budget however is not as giving ;) I think im going to go with 1.1 het ghost for now and make plans for the lesser w/tax return

Re: Lesser vs Ghost
both as i love them both.

Re: Lesser vs Ghost
Im gonna wait until after Daytona and see what i can find... if i can find a visual ghost for the right price i wont even bother with hets.

Ashley, if you do decide to go with heterozygous animals, I really recommend skipping the het male. The female will take at least two years to get to size if you get an 08, and by then, I'm sure you could pick up a visual ghost male for a very fair price. Females first! ;)

Re: Lesser vs Ghost
Mojave x Ghost = "25%" Ghost Mojaves

Nope.
You would get...
50%= Mojave 100% Het Ghost
50%= 100% Het Ghost.

Re: Lesser vs Ghost
I'd pickup a lesser :) But that's cause I'd breed him (yes him) to some normals and use the $ made from the offspring to get a ghost girl :)

I couldnt make up my mind so i have both :D and trust me i like it better haha

Re: Lesser vs Ghost
I'd go with the hypo. From what I've seen on kingsnake lately, they're actually going for less than lessers. Might as well pick up a visual female to raise up. Sure, it's gonna take longer before you can really produce any combos with her, but have you ever seen a BAD hypo combo?

Thats exactly why id take the lesser! Straight BEL's, Lesser Bee's, King Pins and so on...have to breed of spring het ghost back to other etc etc...2 breeding seosons wasted after a Hypo Mojave while you could of had 2 clutches with Lesser Bees :D

Re: Lesser vs Ghost
I honestly think lessers are amazing :D
but ghosts are pretty too.
If I had parents that would let me get another I'd go for the lesser :)

I wouldn't consider it wasted seasons. If you want to work with recessive combos, you're going to be taking the time to raise hets up. The way I see it -- if you want to breed hypo combos, the sooner you pick one up the sooner you'll have a breedable hypo. In the time that you're raising up your combo hets you can be doing your co-dom combos.
