Is this a regular bp or?...
Re: Is this a regular bp or?...
Very nice reduced pattern girl!
But no, just a normal. Definitely not a pastel. The eyes are brown and from what I could see of the belly it is not 100% clear.
I personally love good looking normals! Nice find! :]
Re: Is this a regular bp or?...
No morph, but a very nice high gold low pattern normal. Sweet face, too. :)
Re: Is this a regular bp or?...
Looks like a very pretty normal to me!

Hi,
I might be wrong there but aren't those mites in his eyesockets and ticks on the back of his neck in these pics?

I would try and get a hold of Provent-A-Mite (follow the instructions exactly) and possibly think of getting a vet appointment to have him checked over.
If he poops put in in a bag in the fridge and take it to the vet within 24 hours if you can to test for internal parasites.
If you need help finding a vet or anything let us know and we will try and find one close to you.

...eek....looks like you have a buggy snake! :O
...I would follow Dr Del's advice and get him cleaned up asap!
..he's a good looking snake never the less...
Re: Is this a regular bp or?...
Looks to be Derek!! Good eye bro! Beautiful snake, def get it to the vet and buy some Povent a mite.
Re: Is this a regular bp or?...
Yeah I think I see some mites in the eye socket as well. Check around here on the site you'll find plenty of info on how to quickly cure that. You mentioned this is your second BP I hope it is not in the same enclosure as the other or they may both have mites now. I would split them up for a quarantine period.
Re: Is this a regular bp or?...
Normal. Cool little face-masky thing. Nothing wrong with a normal. I always like to find the unique characteristics :)
Re: Is this a regular bp or?...
Well i noticed the mites and ticks before the pics. And its not in the same or near any other snakes enclosure. I actually treated it with PAM and soaked it before even puting it in its new enclosure. The local reptile shops are really crappy for healthy bug free snakes. Its not the first one i bring home infested. I did the treatment to the snake and its in a brand new enclosure with paper towel for now to make sure he is bug free. I havent seen any more and ive checked him like rediculously and showed him to about 8 different snake experts (not the store owners) and they all said he looks mite and tick free. So hes good., I was also told today that it might be pastel but who knows. They told me to wait and she what happens when he sheds if he gets yellower. Is there any other significant thing that is a characteristic of pastels?

...they tend to have a more variable pattern....I think you have a purdy normal ball. ;)

Re: Is this a regular bp or?...
If I'm passing by one of the pet shops around here like petco I'll pull in to take a gander at the poorly kept bps there. Sometimes I see some that are high gold colored like yours, and some are really dark. All normals though.
Re: Is this a regular bp or?...
Hi,
The belly pattern can also be a really good indicator for some of the morphs. :)

Re: Is this a regular bp or?...
what would the belly look like on a morph? by clear do they mean no markings?

He's not a pastel - no matter how yellow he gets. He's a nice normal, and there's nothing wrong with a nice normal! Normals come in colors from bright yellow to dark brown.
Here are some examples yellower than yours that are normals:

Re: Is this a regular bp or?...
Pastels often have blushing, green/silver eyes, and busy/varied patterns. They always have clear bellies and bright yellow patterns.
Re: Is this a regular bp or?...
I could see the difference now. Thanks for the help. BTW hes mite free now :)
