Pumpkin Pied!
Introducing the Pumpkin Pied! This is the first Yellowbelly Piebald ever hatched and I'm thrilled to introduce it first right here on BP.net. It is the result of a joint project between J. Kobylka Reptiles and my good friend Rico Feliciano.
Looking forward to the low-white pied version, but I LOVE lots of whipped cream!
Love to hear your thoughts... Justin

Re: Pumpkin Pied!
Justin,
Originally I planned on telling a (very) long story about my Uncle who was the Pastry Chef at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Manhattan New York when I was growing up. He made the best Pumpkin Pie I have ever had and since my Birthday was always around Thanksgiving (November 27, 1952) we always had my Birthday celebration coincide with Thanksgiving. The Pumpkin Pie dessert he made was always my favorite. I think it would be a tremendous gesture on your part to honor me this year with the presentation of the Pumpkin Pied to me on my Birthday.

Re: Pumpkin Pied!
Beautiful snake! Congrats!
I wonder if the low white version will be that orange over the whole snake, or only the areas that border on white? Either way, it will be gorgeous!

From seeing the snake in person and comparing to pieds I've produced in the past, I can say that it will be SIGNIFICANTLY more orange overall. Can't wait to make another!

I'll have a shot at the Pastel YB Pied '09... we'll see! Your right, there is so much that can be done with the yellowbelly!

thanks for the comments everyone! I'll have pics up the sibs soon, they are nearly as cool looking! The "het pied look" has quite an influence on the yellow belly.

Re: Pumpkin Pied!
That is a beautiful snake Justin. I love it;)
I have one question, How do you know it is part yellowbelly?
I'm not questioning you, just curious, are there belly markers?

No belly marker because the pied takes care of that! It is the traits that are non-typical of the pied that are the clue, like the typical yellowbelly head with the extra orange and the nose stripes fading into the the jaw. Also the couple of saddles that it has are significantly brighter and more orange than a normal pied's. Another interesting feature is that unlike typical pieds he has a completely white lower jaw and underside of his head. (Pieds typically have a grey or normal colored lower jaw.
Those are a few of the things I've noticed... :)
