this is actually her third clutch... the first two had infertile eggs, this is the first clutch to make it to hatching.. she has two more eggs in her belly and two more in the incubator :weirdface at least i know i can get something to hatch ;) thats kinda how we got into the leos.. if we can get eggs, hatch them, exc it makes breeding ball pythons a bit more realistic in our minds. That and the process is so much faster its given me the strength to leave my bp's alone

Well I have 2 '06 female leos both breeding for the 1st time. One laid infertile eggs all season and the other laid 1 good egg and 1 bad egg each time. Next season I hope that they will do better but I ended up with a few nice shtctb babies. Like you, I will give it a go with bp's if they look ready to breed next year. I might try for a Mojave x Spider pairing. My others are too small.

We purchased all our 07' BP's for breeding next season, spider, mojaves, pastels. (Friday or Mojo female is already 900g so we might give her a go earlier then later) We have a few big older females, one had nice big follicles and the darn girl reabsorbed them! Were still doing pairings with the pastel to our older females.... Better luck with those leos next season.. Penelope and Cruz live together pretty much full time so hes literally bred to her back to back. Thankfully she retains her weight very well and eats like a monster right after laying the eggs. If we see her starting to get worn out we will pull Cruz from her.. in the past when weve taken Cruz away from her he busts his little nose on the front of the bin pacing.

Very cute and healthy looking. I have found my females having a ravenous appetite for a few consecutive days after laying.

:D thanks Larry!! I thought they almost looked like hypos lol. They have great appetites and eat like monsters, just like their mom! She still looks awesome, has since layed me two more eggs and i think there might be two more in her belly again. It has amazed me she hasnt gotten worn out/thin looking...I plan to separate them soon. I cant wait until my mack snow het tremper albino is old enough to breed lol. I cant wait to see what these look like as they get older... perhaps what their off spring look like :gj:

    Thanks for the comments everyone!

At what temperature did they incubate? How many days went by from when the eggs were laid until they hatched?

I know you can tell what their sex will be according to their incubation temps but the first two clutches were incubated in the rack in an "incubator box" on one of the open shelves.. we were really bad and didnt keep monitor on the temps (isnt that the horrible truth!) the temps flux from 87-90, I would need to do the math from the time they were laid to hatch to let you know how long they incubated for.. i think they were approx 5-6 days "Early" according to the calendar

thanks so much for all the nice comments!! We were very excited and proud, our plan was if we could keep them alive long enough to hatch we would have a better chance at actually successfully breeding ball pythons lol

If they were 5 days early for a 60 day incubation period my guess would be female. But at 87-90 degrees they would likely be male with closer to a 30 incubation period.

will be interesting to see what they come out to be lol... but then again, their temps werent spot on either. Im incubating the clutch I have now in the incubator and temps are 87.3-87.9 stable.

    Re: my first leo hatched!!
Just a word of caution. Most people want only one male with a group of females. If you are temperature sexing for all males you will have trouble getting rid of them and you will have to house them all separately so they won't kill each other. If you wanted females you would be incubating at around 80 degrees.

:) Thanks for letting me know. I know to incubate at a lower temp from now on
