Clutch Countdown!

9 Days until my first clutch is on day 50...

Luckily I'll be gone 7 of those 9 days, so I can help take my mind off the agonizing wait! But day 50 or 51...snip snip!!!:D

Maybe you'll get lucky and have two baby daddies! Some pastel lessers and bumble bees wouldn't be shabby. :)

It's pretty awesome that my one and only clutch this year is morph to morph. I couldn't have asked for more. And it's hard to believe this next season is right around the corner! Time to start planning again.

2 Days!

2 of the 4 eggs are dimpled, the other two look nice and plump still.. but I'm not worried. Hopefully all this waiting, and hard work pays off!:please:

I don't drink coffee, and it wouldn't be strong enough. Gotta pick up a new maglite and some cuticle scissors. Now, should I cut them Wednesday morning, or make everyone wait ALL day until I get off of work?:P

The last of my multi-sire clutches hatched this past weekend. The first one was lemon pastel female to cinnamon, spider, het red axanthic. Six eggs turned up 3 pastels, 2 normals, an 1 spider; I was kind of bummed, but all hatched healthy so its all good. The second clutch was lemon pastel female to spider and cinnamon. four eggs turned up 1 normal, 1 pastel, 1 bumblebee, and 1 pewter...REDEMPTION!!!! Anyway, point being is multi-sire clutches are pretty fun...anything can happen.

I've read about TONS of multi sire clutches this year, so I have hopes of one of my own, but I guess I can't count those eggs! haha!

Big update! Day 50, got home this morning and cut some small holes in the eggs with VERY shaky hands. I candled the eggs to get an idea of where I could safely stay away from large vein clusters, and drew out some windows to follow.:P

I only had an hour before I had to leave for work, so I didn't get an opportunity to snap any pictures.

First egg cut... looks Pewter!

Second egg cut... looks Cinny

Third egg cut...definitely looks Pastel (I could see this little one's head, green eyes!)

Fourth egg cut...WTH is that!!!? Much much brighter yellow than the pastel, and faded like crazy....maybe the lesser or pastel male sired this egg... we'll have to see.

No normals...this is NOT my normal luck, I must've been REAL good to deserve this.

I know colors can come in and change a bit in the next 5-7 days, until they emerge, so we'll see. But I'm pumped to go home and have a better look.

Congrats Jason! ... You've worked so hard over the years to get to this point, I'm wicked stoked for you ... it's nice to see hard work and dare I say "passion" pay off.

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed on those colors ... sounds like you'll have some smokers there once they color up!
