    Hi,

I think it looks like a sinaloan too - next time he sheds I would keep a hold of it to do some scale counts to see if that helps.

I don't know what type your snake is but I am really drawn to the appearance of milksnakes. The colors on all of them are nice.

I usually don't see milk snakes with white on their face like that.

Its definitely not a black though, those are much more murky on the white and turn black when they grow up.

Hondurans tend to have white on their face.. but they don't look as clean..

So the best bet is that it's a Sinaloan.

    It could be a nelsons..
But usually they have more yellow than white.. and have skinnier white bands?
But I've seen a few with white bands on their neck like his.

Usually I would have no idea, but I just went to the Iowa State Fair and they had a snake house and that snake was there! It was one of those "is it this or that" things.

My guess is Mexican milksnake (Lampropeltis triangulum annulata). Just like mine, but there is no yellow or white in the snout.

Can you post a ventral shot of this milksnake? So i can compare to my milksnake.

If you mind I can post my milksnake in this thread, If its ok for you.

It looks more like an integrade to me. Not enough Sinaloan and not enough Nelsoni, but a perfect combination of the two. Sinaloans tend to have longer red bands with thinnner triads. Nelsoni usually have slightly narrower red bands, but wider black bands. I would say it's a mix. Either way, they are too closely related to say for sure. Pretty snakes.

    Definately not an annulata.
