Something New!

Well I hatched out a light blue tinted ball python today. It has some side blotches of orange it is really cool. I have two more coming out right now so I will get a whole clutch shot when they all crawl out. I hope that you guys think that it is cool.

I haven't got a clue what it is other then champagne and 'something else'. Whatever it is, it's very nice.

Well here is a clue this awesome Queenbee male just hatched out of the same clutch! This is one if its siblings and wow I am beside myself by its beauty!

I love your Champagnes, and the Mimosa is FANTASTIC. But I must ask as someone who would like to inject them into my breeding one day -- Are you concerned about any difficulties getting any distinct pattern in Champagne combos? Based on what you have seen, and know, by virtue of working with them to the extent your have -- I figured you would be the one to ask.:) Thanks, Bill

Cajun Bill- I totally understand where you are coming from with the Champagne gene turning everything patternless. I think that it is wild and I can't believe that the gene can wipe out pattern from every mutation that I have crossed it with. Now I am a snake geek so I think that it is cool all of the little things that the gene does do to the pattern. Such as on my Champagne Pinstripes it put dark blotches next to the dorsal striping and really cleaned them up and took the circles off of their bodies. Now the Lesser Champagne is the cool pink snake with the yellow dorsal stripe. As they are growing they are starting to color up more so I can't wait to see them at 500 grams. I have three of this new combo and they are not all the same. One hatched out that has yellow patterned blotches throughout its body and it is smoking hot.
Now if you are wanting to work them you just have to understand that they are going to wipe out the pattern from what we know at this time. I think that it does what G stripes and super Cinnamon's do but just in a codom breeding so there is a lot of potential. To each their own and it all depends at what you are looking for. I still love a bright orange Champagne in all its glory! They are just beautiful. There are some more crosses that I can't wait to see happen so hopefully I will have some luck and be able to produce them in the next couple of years. I hope that this answered your question.

I can see your wheels turning! The Super Cinny was the the one snake that came to mind -- even though as you noted -- it is a super.

It might be worth trying a 2 to 1 ratio. A third pattern morph breed into any one of your existing combos. I.E. -- 2 pattern morphs + 1 Champagne = CRAZY PATTERN AND COLOR TRIPLE COMBO.:banana:

Just my hunch:confused:...Mr. Wagner might consider a Cinny or Black Pastel in a breeding. 2 powerful color morphs, battling it out, might give you that elusive HIGH RED or ORANGE we so greatly desire in balls. Should be fun!;)
