Got a new male mini rex for breeding ;)
I havnt had alot of time in the last few days to take pics, but i managed to snap this last night...

i got him yesterday at the Pensacola Repticon show... and i must say, it was pretty darn good considering it was a first show in my city, and wasnt in the paper ;)

his name is Dr. Pepper, aka Pepper or Doc...
he is a sweet bunny =]

and for my personal sake, all other baby bunnies are ugly compared to him lol...
(i know, but i must lie to myself lol)

yeah, because the meat rabbits are too big for the female rabbits already.

he is a breeder -- he has another couple weeks before hes old enough but yeah...

and yeah, thats why i keep telling myself that they will be ugly lol...

i also plan on breeding mini rexes to show, cause i now know some contacts who breed and show rabbits =]

I am too in love with rabbits to use them for meat or feeding :(
lol But I ran a rbbit rescue and we had a few come in that were once show rabbits . My mother in law now shows them She enjoys it .

The rabbit you have there is very pretty though <3

dito... i really honestly couldnt ever do it. Rabbits are cute at every single stage, especially when they just get fuzzy and cute! But hey, to each his own.

Rabbits who show also dont typically live very happy lives, its very stressful for them and honestly i dont know that many people can show rabbits who dont have pedigrees.

yeah, i love rabbits, but its just pure fact that i have to feed my 7 foot boa something, and uh i cant afford paying 7 bucks a week for a jumbo rat that might not even work for her when she is done growing... :/

i do plan on getting meat rabbits for this later this year, but right now i have free bunnies and this boy :)

and yeah, thanks :) he was the prettiest male there =D

((this male has a pedigree... the babies i get out of him from the females i have, wont be, but i plan on getting some mini rex females when i get the meet rabbits))

My 8ft boa is on rabbits now, I think 2.5lbers. I get them from Big Cheese Rodents here in Texas. She gets one every 3-4 weeks or so and it keeps her at a nice weight. Rats just never kept her satisfied, even with 4-5 at a feeding.

Definitely get the meat rabbits though, the show bunnies are just for that, showing, not eating. They aren't good quality in that department.

yeah, i know, but i figured if anything sense my friend was giving me the 5 lb rabbits with hutches and stuff it was a good place to start...

but i plan on getting a couple meat rabbits =] prolly the californians or something...

    Cute bunny!

I used to show my rabbit, he's a purebred himalayan and had a very successful lineage. He did quite well at the shows, but neutered rabbits make MUCH better pets....so is now fixed and enjoying a good life. He is basically like a cat, spends all day outside his cage and is completely litter-trained. I looove bunnies, they are a real unique creature if you take the time to get to know them

Oh i love my bunny, he has such a personality.
unlike the rats that i would just kill off when i was done breeding, i deff will keep and fix this little guy...
and i'd be lucky if my mom lets him move out with me, he is her favorite of all the animals i have ever had lol

Im sorry but I disagree with that 100% I happen to show rabbits (for 4h) and my freinds show rabbits (for real) and I have to say rabbits who show live better than pet rabbits they are fed very well they arent overweight they are kept brushed and clean. the rabbits are not stressed I dont really see how they could be...........they are handled so they will be freindly. they are taken to teach 4h kids about rabbits and get a whole lot of love there........And the people who show them have a huge passion for the care of them just look at a rabbit breeders website and see how healthy the rabbits are
