    Little Faces Peeking Out
    I love seeing this!

    http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e2...axMalachi2.jpg

One of her/his clutchmates not quite ready to check out the world yet.

    http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e2...axMalachi3.jpg

This is our third clutch of the year from our normal female, Kyna and our 100% het Albino, Malachi. This is their first pairing and the first hatchlings for both of them so we were quite pleased to get 7 nice sized eggs. :)

    http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e2...axMalachi1.jpg

Of course being that this is a possible het Albino clutch, please cross your crossable bits that it's female heavy. Now the wait for them to finally decide to leave their eggs so we can sex them. :weirdface

I can't even remember where I found that goofy picture but I just had to make it into an avatar (I added the words to it). Perfect for this time of year. :)

Thanks Heather! We're hoping for 1 more clutch for this year and that's it. Not bad as we only tried 5 females and so far 3 have laid and one more we believe to be gravid. Of course our biggest female, Brannagh, didn't go this year. Always got to be the one you want the worst to lay, that doesn't LOL. Oh well not complaining. Our first year breeding and we've had 3 clutches, total of 18 eggs, all hatch for us. :)

    YAY! Babies!

    Congrats Jo (and Mike).

Fingers, eyes, fingers, and toes crossed for a female heavy clutch.

You have seen me... you know that is not pretty, but for you I will hold it till they all come out of the egg (so hurry up and sex them already cause it is starting to hurt!).

Thanks for all the well wishes for a female heavy clutch. :)

I do like that one's head, Robin, very nice faded head marking.

Bruce, stop that! You'll throw out your back and even worse as my granny used to say, "if the wind changes...you'll stay that way!"

Thanks Tim, we're thrilled with our three clutches so far and hoping for one more if Orlah bred late as we think she did. It's been a blast this first year. I can't say enough about breeders like you that have hand held me over the phone when I had worries, shared your wisdom and advice with Mike and I....it's a very fine thing this ball python world. There may be some scumbags in it but I think in the end the decent folks far outweigh those other types. :)

We're sure hoping so, Derek. Then comes the long, long wait to breed them back to their sire and start praying for little yellow heads to poke out.

Thanks Joe. I keep peeking in but the little wigglers won't come out of their eggs so I can see if they are boys or girls! :(

Thanks so much, Doris. I cannot tell you what it's like to see those little faces and know that if not for our efforts (and their parent snakes of course LOL) they would simply not exist. It's an amazing rush!

I finally did cut this clutch without my hands shaking and having to stop. I'm not ashamed to admit that egg cutting was VERY nerve wracking for me the first couple of clutches but this one went slick as anything (thanks Robin! ;)).

This clutch is particularily special to us since the momma, Kyna, was one of our first snakes and a rescue/adoption. She sure was a scrawny, undersized girl back then and it's awfully rewarding to see her now big and healthy and producing her first babies for us. Awwww I'm getting all emotional here :tears:.

    Well said Jo. :)

For those that do share, the ripple effect is not to underestimated when people like yourself share the information you get from others.

Where is my applauding hand emoticon when I need it?

My pleasure! Wasn't it so much easier and "cleaner" doing it that way? :D

Anywhoo - I'll be joining you on Tuesday - when I'll be cutting my last clutch!

So you bred a normal female with a 100% het albino male? And did you get one albino baby?
  • 08-21-2011, 04:18 AM
    thewesterngate
This is almost three years old. You can't get an albino by breeding a normal to a het albino. She did it to produce possible het albinos to breed back to the 100% het to produce albinos down the road.

Please do a bit more research on genetics, you've already asked the same normal x het questions a few times.
