What the Hell is this!!?!?!?!?!?

Ok so I went up north, to Paso Robles CA, lil north of San Louis Opispo. My dad lives up on Lake Nacamiento and I found this little guy! At first When I was chasing him, I was thinking Fire Skink, when I caught him, I knew it wasnt. Definitely an alligator lizard face, but what kind?

There is a tremendous variety in the alligator lizards. You have a very nice one there. They're great pets too.

LOL I had the glove one, because I was movin old wood, he was underneath it.

That is an especially beautiful one!! I find alligator lizards in my yard occasionally, but never one so red! :)

Southern alligator lizard (Elgaria multicarinata). I hear ya on the glove, bro. They bite like no other....

I actually only had the glove on for a second, then was free handing him, and he was pretty docile actually.

I live in SLO and my parents live at Lake Nacimiento also. The alligator lizard is cool as hell. You will also find a ton of Cal Kings and Rattlers up there. You can spend a whole day finding neat animals.
