White belly with strong black striping on either side, starting from the cloaca.

Speaking of which, did anyone ever hear what the final word was on that piebald Matt Turner produced years ago breeding a het clown to a normal?

I always wondered if clown and pied could be alleles but then I saw an ad for double hets last year that didn't mention them being morphs. Can anyone confirm what the double het clown and pied looks like? I didn't notice who was selling the double hets but assume it was legit.

As soon as she sheds in the next day or two I'll post a pic of a little girl possible het pied I recently hatched that has those extreme markers set out wide. I wasn’t planning on holding back any more possible het pied girls but this one is just too nice.

Please remember that markers hold no guarentee on if the snake with markers is in fact a het or not. Some people swear that markers hold "the key" while others have proven it time and time again that not all hets with markers hold that key to make a pied. I have a normal CH BP who does have markers and a 100% het pied that does not.

    Randy,

I've wondered that for some time too, but I really doubt they are on the same allele, simply because it seems the proof would have been made by now... since ppl have made double hets without homozygous individuals popping out - to my knowledge

In '09 I'm hoping to produce pastel pied x clown so I'll certainly let everyone know what pops out.

Thanks, look forward to seeing your results.

I also would have expected someone to have crossed clown to piebald by now (and I did see an ad for double hets, I just didn't pay attention to who it was). Another one is caramel X regular albino. And even homozygous X homozygous of the different axanthic lines. I suppose adult morph females have been too precious so far to possibly waste on a year of wild experimenting. Even at today’s prices it would be hard to try something that conventional wisdom says will not workout. But even if you don’t get pied looking babies from your initial clown X pied breeding I think there is no telling how wild that 1 in 16 double homozygous will be down the line.
