Honest opinion PLEASE

This is an idea I have had in my head for a while. I plan to get better shots of at least 3 of the snakes, so right now the pictures(5x7's) are just push pinned into 20" x 30" black foam boards. I mounted them over the couches in my living room. As soon as I am certain I have the best pics of each snake I will change to a frame.

HONESTLY. Do you think this looks Cool or Cheesy??? Pretty or Tacky??? Please, be honest. I need honest feedback.

I think the pictures are cool, but the push pins are cheesy.
Maybe you could use ribbon and a hot glue gun to "frame" the pics?

that and i dont like the black.. maybe you can tilt it sideways to make it look intresting!

i agree with the others opinions but i think you should individually frame each snake in a sort of checkered pattern along the wall the length of the couch

looks good to me,8 x 10's would look better though.nice shots,definatly framable.

i think its a cool idea, but kinda cheesy.../tacky

id get each one printed 8x10 and frame them each and hang them, or go have a poster/collage made, or somthing of that sorts.

Great pictures, I think it looks great and will look even better if/when you get them in seperate frames.

I think you should border each picture with a white outline though, or something along those lines.

I like the idea. I like the pictures. Scale is too small though. When I see the size of your couch, it looks pretty huge I really think you need to balance that with the pictures. Multiple frames would work too, something like... black 16 X 19 frames with a white matte and 8 x 10 pic. Those are some great pics :D

Very cool, but yeah the pins are kinda tacky. :)

I'm doing something rather similar myself. I have an 18x24 poster frame and some of my favorite pictures of BP morphs. Smaller pictures go around the edges, and a big group shot goes in the center with the words - 'Gotta love those Balls!' around it. :D Putting it together tonight.

Eventually, I'll be making a poster with my OWN snakes pictures. :)

I think you should go slightly larger in scale and them lose the black background and stagger the pics individually. like Stairs on a downward angle. Like this back slash \ do like 3 columns like that \ \ \

Just a thought though do what you like though. Its your wall. :)

I've been thinking of something like that for my herp room, to spruce it up...however nothing seems to go with particle board walls!! LOL

I like the concept, but I agree larger prints individually framed would look a tad nicer!

i do like the black background but it should be bigger.i dig the 4 on the outside and 3 in the middle.make it bigger and ill buy a set off you??????????????oh lose the pink pins.lol

Downside, to save money I only used the 7 frames I already had, and am trying to use the same prints. Will spend more if I have to.

Upside, If I did keep them like this, I guess this means from now on I have to purchase 2 snakes at a time??? :taz: :gj:

Hmm, nicer. Why not use poster frames? The 18x24 I bought today was only $6.50 at WalMart, and there was one a bit smaller, 16x20?, that was $5.50ish. That way, they can be bigger and still look good. :)

I think it's looking a lot better. I might suggest hanging them lower... However, I have a son who hangs everything about 2 inches from the ceiling!! Lol!!!

But I too would make them bigger and have them running horizontally along the wall.

Personally I like b/w pictures which would also look great, but then you'd lose the super colourations of your l'il ones.

Def bigger, they are great pics and should not seem lost when on the wall.

Maybe not neccesarrily bigger, but something to break up the mass of frames...maybe some nice candleholders or other wall deco to stagger in between the frames? Something to change it up a bit. Good idea though!

Nice!!! But I think they should be bigger with just one snake per frame and hung lower.

To give the illusion of being bigger, why not group them together in fours, separated evenly with maybe 5 inches between the pics to make grouping? Your couch and wall are large and empty, so you could offset by blowing up one of your favs into a large size, even poster size to take some space... There's a lot there to work with, but it does cost monies...

You can buy matting from any craft store. It's fairly cheap and you can cordinate the colors with the snakes or your living room. Nutural colors, browns, black, greys, whatever you think looks best.

I love the idea. I love the pictures.

However, they are dwarfed by the large sofa and large wall. I would respectfully suggest that you either make the pictures larger or move them onto a narrower wall where they would be more in proportion with their surroundings.

frames would make it much better ! the wall in my room has pic of my BPs, some b&w also some color pics. all the pics are 8x10 with blk frames.

Lookin good! I bought a ton of 8x10 frames but havent gotten around to getting any pictures printed. I love the idea though!

Thanks for all the replies. Going back to walmart tonight to see what I can find frame wise. I have no problem blowing up the pictures some more (like 8 X 10's) but I don't think I want 14, soon to be 16 different frames! Maybe I will see if I can find a large frame that will hold 3 or 4 8x10's... and then just get 4 or 5 of them.

Biggest thing I am trying to avoid is a large number of frames... to me it would look like too much....

Like I said, small poster frames are the way to go. Cheap, big enough for a few pictures per frame, and they still look nice. :)

I agree with the other comments above. It looks a lot better. It makes me want to frame some prints now.

all honesty, it looks good, the way u spaced it out and the lenght of each frame, looks much better !

I'm glad you were able to find a cost-effective alternative. I know oversize printing is insanely expensive. I'm lucky to work ina place where I can pretty much do it for free (at least a few, not lots of them!), but I shudder to thinki about how much my printing hobby will cost when I move to a new job! ;)
