Escape artist.
Well today I have sadly joined the club of lost snakes. I noticed today that my largest snake has disappeared. I left the door latch open. :( Well If she is still im my room im not too worried but I am not sure when I took her out last. And I sometimes sleep with my screen door open in my room. I will keep you posted. :(

Re: Escape artist.
Sorry to hear that. When my big female flaunted her escape aritist talents I found her curled up behind some stuff under my bed. Now, I let her escape under my supervision: just to keep her happy.
Good luck with the search.

Re: Escape artist.
Yeah there arent many things in my room, and I have checked anything she could get underneath, inside, behind, or on top of and no luck as of yet. I am really thinking she got outside. Oh well shes a decent size girl not huge but maybe I will find her. :please: I am worried that she may have hurt herself. Her tank Is about 4 feet off the ground with no way of getting down safely.

Re: Escape artist.
Good luck finding her. My normal by always gets out, like once every 3 months. He pops the top off and just gets out. He always goes to the same place though (my closet), so its easy to find him.

Re: Escape artist.
Getting down four feet is nothing... I have had tiny snakes get up and down stuff that was incomprehensible.
I would not worry about that part... that being said, I hope you find her. I have lost a few in the past and it is heartwrenching not knowing.

Re: Escape artist.
My new baby showed me just how much of an escape artist she could be a few nights ago. At 2 am, I was woken by a large crash...she climbed my bulletin boards and pulled down my calendar. The cage was still closed as I had left it before going to sleep...I still have no idea how she got out.

Re: Escape artist.
Thanks guys. Not trying to be mr negative but I am almost positive she got out of the house. If thats the case shes gone. I am going to tell a few of my nicer neighbors that if they find a snake to catch it and let me know. I showed them one of my others so they know what she looks like. I feel terrible but I cannot do anything else I have searched EVERYWHERE trust me there realy aare not any places for anything to hide in my room except bed, computer chair (lazyboy), inside and behind tv stand, and behind computer stand. I tore the bed apart even cut open box spring and looked inside, cut open chair, moved tv stand and computer stand. Dont have a closet either.

Re: Escape artist.
My female escaped on me once, in the winter. I had 2 10lbs dumbells on the top of the tank, and she was able to lift the lid off and get out in the middle of the night. I searched everywhere. It was cold in our house so i figured she was a gonner after 3 days. I gave up. After about a week i noticed my dog making a wierd noise. I went to check it our and there she was curled up on my dogs bed keeping warm pressed up against my rottweiler. The dog wasn't afraid or trying to eat it, she aws making little wineing noises tryting to get my attention. All in all she was gone for over a week and i found her, she must have been in the walls or under the floor boards or something, but she came back. Sorry to hear you are going throught the mental turmoil i went throught, but i hope this stoyr gives you hope.

Re: Escape artist.
i almost wonder if keeping a live mouse on the floor in one of your rooms, in a cage of course would lure the snake out of hiding. Or maybe set up a nice warm spot with a heating pad and cool down your house.

Re: Escape artist.
Well I am positive she got outside. I literally when box by box, drawer by drawer and took everything out of my room. She wasnt inside, behind, or on top of anything. If she got outside then she is gone. One of my neighbors is like a hermit and their backyard is literally a freaking forest(cant even walk in it) and the other has lots of dogs (mean dogs) :( I have been going out at night and searching for her and I actually tried the mouse thing and didnt work. (I bought 8 mice and put each in a little tuperware thing with holes then sprinkled talcum powder around to see if anything came to investigate and nothing. Oh well if I find her I find her not the end of the world. I wish I wasnt a moron and left the latch open I am normally very paranoid and check several times but didnt this time. :(
