high yellow?

i went to the pet store and noticed a small tank the had a baby ball in it. it said high yellow pastel.. the yellows on it almost looked neon in color. price was listed 229.99. kinda wish i had another place to put a tank.

i will try to get a pic later this week. i think it may be a jungle pastel. i was told by a guy that works there that he heard the breeder say it came from two normals

Well then its probably a normal... Try to get a pic of it. If its in a pet store, the best it will probably end up being for that price is a male pastel which you can always get for half that from a reputable breeder :P

Just so you know, it is impossible to get a pastel from two normals.

thats what i was thinking but he also got a few other that are normal that are said to be from the same clutch. im gonna try to go by monday and get a pic

That looks like a pastel to me! Head blush, clean belly, can't quite see the eye color though.... Pretty snake!!

I would agree with starmom.. that looks like a pastel to me as well. Nice looking snake.

the eyes are green, the brightness is waht got me. if i had another place to put a snake id get it.

Do all pastels have no belly pattern.

So you have no more room? There has to be room somewhere!!! We can always find room! lol. You could get a small tub for it for cheap and get the husbandry stuff set up. To be honest I have both my BP's under my bed in tubs. They love it under there and I have great feeding responses from them.

Gosh I hope this doesn't mark the begining of a new trend of pet stores carrying morphs now. It's bad enough they torture the normals.

That is a pastel and a nice looker at that. If it is female you better grab it quick. If it a male you can get a proven breeder for the same price.

As to the comment about pet stores torturing snakes. I just want to say that most large chain stores are bound by their horrid corporate policies, don't blame the people in the store. How many of you have actually gotten together on this or any other forum and emailed the large chain stores all at once as a group to attempt to get things changed? How many of you have tried petitions?

Probably quite a few people here have signed it.

No. I mean to force them to change HOW the keep them, not get them to stop. That won't happen. Explaining to them what they are doing wrong and then taking it to the corporate level, not as an attack (at first) but as a suggestion for bettering the health of their animals. You will also find that if you do this, with enough people behind it, that they will be receptive. I suspect that Petco will be less perceptive than their competition.

How does one FORCE anything??

Well Peta forced Petco to stop selling large birds. I think if everyone banded together from here or other forums, perhaps it would change the mind of some of the corporate idiots out there. It was just a suggestion though. A comment here or there, especially at an employee level just wont cut it. Like I said though, just a suggestion

I'd also be a lot easier if there were more serious members as well as MOST MEMBERS living close to one another. It's hard enough to take action when you live thousands of miles away from eachother.
Sad truth is that most online signature petitions go unnoticed by large companies or the government. It's very easy to ignore.

I think what he means by morphs in pet stores being bad is this;
Clearly they will be sold at MUCH higher prices then necessary, probably won't be bought as much, and if they are.. they're usually going to be unhealthy as it is. The only difference between morphs and normals in a petstore, is a normal is much cheaper and will probably sell, unlike a 300 dollar morph that no one wants to pay for.

the pastel i found wasnt in a petco or petsmart. its owned by two brothers that have a lot of exotic animals ive been goin there for 12 years now and there facility is nice and all animals are healthy
