And it was one heck of a journey! Huge props to Heather for being so awesome and not stopping until she got some answers! She really handled everything exceptionally well! :gj::bow:

Congrats on the new additions, That first normal is a SWEET looking girl!

Re: My new snakes
It's a custom built rack by yours truly. Similar to ARS's racks for the design, but using Sterilite 28 qt tubs. Gotta love the benefits of working in a metal fabrication shop. :gj:

Haha, Chris made the rack. Perks of working in fabrication!
I loooove them both. The darker girl has some killer banding, and the light girl is gonna be HOT when paired with my pastel boy. :D

The only downside to it is the weight! Steel is heavy, especially when you stack that much up like that. I'd really like to make one using aluminum -- but even with building it myself the material would still be pretty costly. Ah well, maybe by the time i need to build another one I'll be able to justify the cost.

Re: My new snakes
Did you have the rack powdercoated or is it just painted? Very very nice... my dad welds aluminum for a living...hmmm...:D

It's powdercoated, painting is too time consuming and messy for me. ;) Aluminum would definitely be the way to go, but with the way steel prices are jumping up right now I'm kind of afraid to look into what all the aluminum for one of these would cost. If I remember right -- it took two 4' x 8' sheets for the shelving/runners, and five 20' sticks of 1" x 1" square tubing for the framing.

Thanks for the information. I'm pretty sure I could get all the materials at cost...just would have to pay my dad for shop time. I'll have to look into this further...
You need to start mass manufacturing these!:gj:

I was talking about at cost. ;) Granted it won't cost anywhere near what it would to buy one from the big guys, but the material would still be costly. I haven't checked what a sheet of 16 gauge aluminum goes for lately, but I do know that $160 is most likely the lowest price you can find a sheet of 1/8" aluminum diamond plate for anywhere.

Re: My new snakes
Connie those ball females look great....nice and thick just the way I like them...LOL. The color on the brazilians is just amazing, I love how deep the red looks. That is a pair of BRBs to be really, really proud of!

Re: My new snakes
Nice Connie!!! I love how shy new BP's are. They are beautiful. It looks like that little BRB wants to "taste" you. I love that rack too!!! Is the flex-watt recessed a bit, or does it just sit on top?

The BRB's are awesome, I'm in love with all of the snakes I got from everyone!
The flexwatt runs under some steel in the back. Not sure if you can see it in the photo, but the steel piece runs across both tubs, the tubs actually sit on top of it when pushed all the way back.

Re: My new snakes
Congrats! All three are loverly!
