    Blonde Pastel Hypos are hatching!!!
Well it's been a long wait for these...I purchased a pair of Blonde Pastel het Hypos in 05 and I'm just getting my first clutch...The male doesn't have much interest in breeding...He only locked up with this het female a couple times...I really expected slugs.

I got 7 eggs from Blonde Pastel 100% het Hypo x 100% het Hypo...Looks like I have 2 Pastel Hypos, 1 Hypo, 3 Pastel 66% het Hypos and 1 66% het Hypo. Can't complain about those odds!

Nice man, congrats. I have 3 clutches of mojo eggs in my incubator from 3 females that were each only paired one time with my male. I over-did it with my male mojo this year and was pairing him up every week from November 1 - Feb 12, and he died from mild stomatitus and stress from me being over enthusiastic about keeping him working the block. I was shocked because he was locked up until a few days before he passed. I had 3 loaner females that he only locked up with one time each and we got 18 good eggs from the breedings, 5, 7 and 6 good eggs. I wasn't expecting any of them to go, but it all worked out.

It was a hard lesson, but now I know that you don't have to work your males all season, just pay attention to the females and give them a few shots. If they want to go they will. Males can definately be overworked, but they don't ever need to be (for newbs like me, not the OP).

Sweet babies!! Especially the little pastel hypo.

Ok, I'm gonna sound like a total Newbie here... but what's the difference between a blonde pastel and a regular pastel? What does the 'blonde' contribute?

Oh, and that's really sad about your male mojo, Jake. Tough lesson learned...

The "blonde" is a line of pastel much like VPI, NERD, Bell, etc.
For the life of me, I can't remember exactly whose line it is.

    Very, very nice Jon! :D:D

    Thanks for all the compliments!!!

I ended up with 1.1 Pastel Hypos, 0.1 Hypo, 2.1 Pastels 66% Het Hypo and I don't remember what the Normal is...lol

Also I forgot to mention these were made with Brian Sharps Line of Butterscotch Hypos.
