Re: He proved out (I think)
They do look just like mom! Gonna breed a male back to her? I like the small squiggles/dots in some of their circles... :gj:
Re: He proved out (I think)
Yep the baby pictured is about 600 grams now and male. The other is a female. This year's hatchlings even look more like her with different degrees of speckling from the granite. Out of the 5 that have crawled out 3 of them have very cool head patterns like dad but the 2 of them have distinct spots at the back of the head like mom.
Re: He proved out (I think)
Congrats, that baby pictured is smoking!
Good luck with breeding him back to her.... be interesting to see what happens! :)
Re: He proved out (I think)
Here are the best pictures I could get of them for now. I am going to wait until they have thier first shed to take more. Sorry some pics aren't the best.

First Hatchling
He has a really cool neck break which you can see better in another picture farther down. They all have head spots of sorts but they are hard to take pictures of and some are nicer than others. Hoping they pop more when they shed. They also have the spotty bands of thier mom and some speckling of dad, I just don't know if mom's genes overroad the dad's genes with the speckling or maybe they are all just nice normals.

Re: He proved out (I think)
beautiful clutch, curious to see how this all turns out for you.
Re: He proved out (I think)
Thank you I appreciate it. I think I will have a better feel about them after they shed.
Re: He proved out (I think)
Well, they definitely don't look like your average alien head markings. Just normals with interesting patterns? I don't know. I'd definitely do some line breeding to see if something crazy pops out.
Even if they are "just normals", I think they are gorgeous. I love cool patterns they have!
Re: He proved out (I think)
Hi Mark, I really like the patterns on those. Looks like some very odd pattern anomalies going on, kind of like the usual alien heads only sideways. makes me wonder what would happen if you mixed a spider or pinstripe in with that.
Re: He proved out (I think)
Nice patterns! It seems as if they are genetic, I wonder what it could be.
Even if it's just really nice normals I like them! They're very pretty. Great job with these. :]
Re: He proved out (I think)
Thanks Casey
I don't know Mark we are going to have to find out :) I am going to breed last years male to mom. He has the squiggles but a much cleaner pattern and more black back than these babies as you can see in his pic. They really don't have the typical alien heads but almost more of a figure eight "alien" head. These babies have the spotted bands that mom has but most also have squigglies thrown in there as well as some of the granite specking from dad, I don't know if the speckling will show up more after they shed but I'm definately keeping some back to breed to mom and dad and some other morphs to see if anything super fun is going on. If nothing comes out of it other than the busy patterns I'll still be happy with that. I really like the clean reduced bandeds but I also really like the really busy patterns like jungles have.
