    Suggestions on a Vacay/Honeymoon
Well I got married this past May, and my wife and I did not go on a honeymoon because she had used her vacation days up, and we just frankly had no idea where we wanted to go.

Well we been talking and we are thinking of going on a vacation/honeymoon for our 1 year, so at the end of next May.

We are both very into recreational activities. We really want to take a hike thru some sort of tropical forest and would like to hike up a volcano of some sort...I really wanna see some wildlife. Neither of us really wanna be in a very touristy huge city setting ya know?

So we were thinking of maybe Hawaii...but not the big island as we have heard that is crowded and very touristy. My wife hasnt been their either so it could be fun. She has however been to Puerto Rico and said that could be fun. But we are just looking for suggestions perhaps.

We wanna stay somewhat close to the states and dont want to have to hassle too much with translations and all that?

Is this asking too much? Suggestion and personal experiences would be greatly appreciated! Thanks all! :)

I've heard Fiji is awesome, but I don't know much about it. Someone described it to me as like the Galapagos were 30 years ago before tourism ruined them.

Also, I've heard that Kauai is a good island with lots of stuff out of the way of tourists.

Good luck! I'm sorry I'm not more helpful, but I hope you guys have a great vacation!

Cruises are always an option, I know a girl at work is going down to the carribean for a week, to several different islands for a GREAT price. :gj:

Hawaii and Fiji are both gorgeous, but are really Long flights. If you have under 2 weeks I would choose somewhere else.

Bermuda is awesome. It is a very quick flight and has hiking history gorgeous beaches, snorkling etc.Bere are no snakes on the entire island.

Anguilla is also very nice.. Remote not very touristy, plenty of deserted beaches to explore,no crime. You can also take a boat from there to St Barts.

Puerto Rico is beautiful... as is jamaica... but you need to be a bit careful.

Aruba is very touristy in my opinion.

    Have fun Wherever you go!

Grand Caymen is amazing. You get to play with sea turtles there and swim with massive stingrays.

    Brazil is AWESOME...

I would go back in a heart beat.

You just need to know where to go.

Hawaii is beautiful as well, but not as close to you as to me.

    I LOVE CRUISES..

You get to play around on the ship and get off during the day. Casinos, dancing, shows, etc..

You can come out to California and hike around here. San Francisco isn't tropical, but it is a romantic city, and there are plenty of hikes and walks to take around. PLENTY to do.

Mexico is cool, but you have to be in the right places.

A friend of mine went to Costa Rica a couple years ago and absolutely loved it. There are lots of hikes through the jungle; he saw lots of animals. He was at a resort so there was all kinds of things to do... pretty much anything you could want to do in a tropical setting.

I love Costa Rica, the Carribbean, Aruba and Belize
All beautiful, relatively inexpensive, short flights, and NO JET LAG

going to Hawaii and Bali and stuff is gorgeous but the jet lag and long flights really take the wind right out of my sails. Everybody deals with it differently and I suck at jet lag.

For hikes you really can't beat Costa Rica and Belize.

Oh, and a friend of mine went on a trip to the Galapagos (wildlife at it's best) AND Machu Picchu (hiking at it's best) and loved it.

I've been to Hawaii. I suggest Maui. It was my favorite and had more wilderness than Oahu. Beautiful and the weather in Hawaii is a bit better than Fiji I hear, partially because of the wind I think. :]
