This little Stinker stole my heart.... duw!

Re: This little Stinker stole my heart.... duw!
OOOOOOooo, I think skunks are adorable. I'd love to have a CB albino someday.... Where did you find her?
-
Re: This little Stinker stole my heart.... duw!
She was brought to me by a fella that almost ran her over...
I've heard that people have CB ones as pets, but I don't know if it's legal here in TX... at least I've never heard of any. I bet they're similar to a Ferret? All I know is they're ADORABLE!
-
Re: This little Stinker stole my heart.... duw!
I have never heard anything but CUTE CUTE CUTE about them.
They are beyond adorable. What a great gift to get to spend a few days with a baby skunk! :)

Re: This little Stinker stole my heart.... duw!
CUTE just about describes her to a tee! LOL She was very bright too! She wasn't shy about letting you know she was hungry.. and if she thought I took too long to get her bottle ready, I was given all kinds of tweets and whistles! :)
Yea, it was really great to spend a few days with her... I miss the little toot! ;)

Re: This little Stinker stole my heart.... duw!
:D Thats TOO much cute for 1 thread!!! The feeding pics are precious!!!
-
Re: This little Stinker stole my heart.... duw!
I would honestly go through the process of getting a license for one!
They are supposed to be more affectionate than cats and some dogs.
It's usually a good idea to remove the scent gland though along with regular baths.. ahaha. Just in case something scares them.
A thunderstorm could end up bad..

Re: This little Stinker stole my heart.... duw!
they do make wonderful and intelligent pets
they need a special skunk food with some odd nutritional supplements in it. I looked into it once because they are really really cute.
-
Re: This little Stinker stole my heart.... duw!
That's awesome...I've always loved skunks - Beautiful animals...Saw an albino skunk down in Florida about 10 years ago...

Yea, I did a little reading on them... I also found a link that was saying raw/fresh diets were good too...

Re: This little Stinker stole my heart.... duw!
I think skunks are really high up there on the list of cutest animals on the planet! I LOVE their faces.
This looks like a different species than the ones I am familiar with. It seems like it has more of a white patch on its shoulders than stripes down its back? Or maybe their coloring changes as they mature?
-
Re: This little Stinker stole my heart.... duw!
I agree she is a cute little stinker :P

Re: This little Stinker stole my heart.... duw!

Yep! On my list too :) As I understand it, the wild skunkies all have their own pattern, ranging from almost no white to a full white back!

I saw a weanling a few weeks ago in Kentucky. It was über cute!!but I made sure I wasn't near it....LOL.

Re: This little Stinker stole my heart.... duw!
They are very similar in attitude and personality of a cat. Howeever they are much smarter. We looked into them a few years back, as Monica and I really fell in love with them. They have some Choclate Albinos that are beautiful. We did a bit more research and found out that they are illeagal to keep as pets in Louisiana, so no quality breeder would sell us one. Maybe if we move, we'll go to Arkansas, as I know there are quite a few good breeders there, and they are legal.
Congrats on the job well done Laura.
p.s. Justin, you can have the glands removed if you keep them as pets, and they can't spray that wonderful smell any more.

Re: This little Stinker stole my heart.... duw!
Aww! Pounce mode is so cute! I didn't know they did that.

OK... I don't know if it's just me, but I really don't mind the smell that bad. I don't mean full on sprayed, but driving through a skunk cloud, I actually kinda like the smell.... :weirdface

Oooohhh yea! They bat at you with their little front feet... and hit the floor with them  kinda like a playful dog, with it's butt in the air!
Here's a question... just out of curiosity, do the pet skunks use a litter box? I just wonder what the people that keep them do about poo control?

I just realised... we have hairy legs, and don't mind the smell of skunks... yea. Is this a good thing? LOL
Are you my long lost twin? :weirdface
 Hey, at least we're not shy! :D
-
Re: This little Stinker stole my heart.... duw!
You're not the only ones. ;) I use my children as a gauge as to whether or not I need to shave, as they love to rub on my legs when the hair getting stubbly. Shaving is the only way to get them to quit.
-
Re: This little Stinker stole my heart.... duw!
Awww, I don't know how I missed this - but that is one adorable baby skunk! I don't mind the smell too much either - and I also will postpone shaving my legs for weeks - hahaha!
I remember going to a skunk show when I first moved to GA and loved them - so many pretty colors! I thought I remembered that it was illegal to own a "normal" b/w skunk, but the CB colors are ok in some states.
-
Re: This little Stinker stole my heart.... duw!
Skunks are SO ADORABLE. Did you call her "Flower"? :D I've never seen a baby one before, though! *melts*

This is great to know... we might just have the start of a pretty unique club! LOL
I think your right Robin... When I did some reading I saw that some states allow color mutes but not the black and white... I wish they were legal here. I miss her!
