Super Secret Snake!

Re: Super Secret Snake!
:D Yay! You did posts pics! Looking really good, I love FWC's. How's the temperament?
-
Re: Super Secret Snake!
Picked him up at the show, and he wanted a taste of my finger, but other than that she is a chill snake.
It was totally my fault when he bit me. My hands were all clamy and he was super excited right of the bat and was really squirmy, so I restricted his movement a little bit, and he didnt like it, but as soon as I let go, he let go.
I couldnt be happier!!!

Hey hood, not quite like a cobra, but def a distinct hood. They also do not stand, they more tilt to the side, to show their girth!

I really dont think I was envenomated (is that even a word?? LOL), It was such a quick reactive bite, and like I said, the second I un"restrained" him, he let go. That was the sign.

Wait, HOLD ON.
Is a FWC a rear-fanged snake? (is it venomous?)
I looked it up on wikipedia and it gave me some confusing stuff about glands that can cause swelling and bruising.
O.o

If you die from the bite, I got dibbs on your blood python.
P.S. Is that how you spell dibbs? Never really come up before.

Well they have really loose skin on there necks, so they can "hood". When they are not hooded, they get a really wicked Arrow-like head.

lol.
Sometimes I wish this wasn't a family friendly forum.
On a serious note, I really do like FWCs
-
Re: Super Secret Snake!
Patttimus, I wouldn't bother waiting a week, unless you just fed her. Then I'd wait a few days.
FWCs really are not typical snakes. They're more alert and I think smarter than most. She won't mind you handling her and it will NOT put her off her feed.
Nothing does.
I decided to keep that male I showed you. I need a nice hypo to go do shows so people can see how they look and how nice they can be. And how big too. An 8 footer is impressive.

Yeah thats really cool, he was impressive at that size, and will be a good show environment type snake. Unless someone grabs him  hahaha.
Now wheres the albino FWC

Re: Super Secret Snake!
Congrats Pat! Nice looking snake. The reputation these guys have for their personality and intelligence intrigues me.

If anyone ever needs help figuring out an abbreviation, try looking at this post, stickied in the "general herp" section:
http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showthread.php?t=69059
As it turns out, FWC was one I missed when I made the list, but we need help finding stuff that should be added!
