Sunbeam snakes
http://www.jnjreptiles.com/pictures/sunbeams.jpg
We just got a big order of these guys in, one of my favorite colubrids. Just like a eel. Deep bedding + high humidity+ rat pups = happy sunbeam snake!!
Thought we would show some pics of these guys, not something you see every day. These are quick pics we took when we unpacked them to soak, before they go into individual boxes, more once they settle in...

Re: Sunbeam snakes
This was a quick pic of them when they first came in. The grey/silver ones were in shed. They are one of my favorite colubrids, and are hands down the best escape artist in the snake world. I sold all of them, and when I was packing them up had 6 missing, found them later that day, but they will get out of a box a baby corn couldn't get out of....
On a plus side these guys were great feeders, everyone of them fed the first attempt.

Re: Sunbeam snakes
these are beautiful snakes. i was reading up on them and it says they are really hard to care for and generally die within six months of being taken from the wild.
is this true? and if so what can you do to let them thrive?
thanks.

I just picked up 2 from a friend who bought some from the group in the pic, 2 males I believe.
As for the store, we are located in Maine but have not had a retail location in Maine, N.H or Mass, but do the Manchester N.H show and portland ME show.

Okay - I must have seen you at a Manchester show sometime, I knew the name sounded farmiliar! There used to be a store right on the NH/MA line but I can't remeber what it was called (I'm pretty sure it was J&Something(?) Reptile)
