Errr - can they ovulate twice?

Hi,


I need someone to explain this to me.:(

I made a thread with pictures of what I thought was Cleo ovulation on the 17th of June.

17th of June,

Now tonight I was just about to go to bed when I did the final snake check of the night and see this;

The last time she ate was the 30th of May and the last time I saw a successfull lock was the 5th of June.

Was the first lump building and this is ovulation or was the first one ovulation and this means something is going wrong with her? :confused:

I swear these animals will cause me to end up in the funny farm.:weirdface

Looks like the first one was building. You can start counting now :gj:

I think your correct that the first one was just building. If you see a shed in about 16 days you will know for sure. I wouldn't be worried at this moment. Good luck on lots of eggs, she is a nice sized girl.

I would say that the first 2 pictures were building, as her tail doesn't look like it is "sucked in" enough. I can't really see the tail real well in the last pic, but it definitely looks more like an ovulation. One thing I do if I am in doubt, is to gently pick up the swelled area, and squeeze (not like you are palpating, but gently). If the area is slightly soft, it is probably just a build, however, if it feels like a rock in there, you can bank on ovulation.

I went and took another picture 5 minutes ago with the tail in it - it definately feels harder than I was expecting but I didn't want to press too hard. :oops:

That tail definitely looks right now. If she is pretty firm, I'd say that is the one. It doesn't take a firm squeeze, just gentle. You'll feel it. As for going crazy. There is no way to bypass the craziness. Sorry.
