Butter Bees would be Butter x Bumble Bee -- I think? My Spider female almost looks like a Bee at first glance. She is light, reduced in pattern, clean, AND has ZERO "Spider issues".

My Butter male is extraordinary and left me little decision who I would pair with her. My Butter is an early 07 (1200) grams and has fathered a dozen clutches this season. Even his babies from rather drab Normal girls are pretty. He is done this year except one last Cinny girl I'm hoping will go late.

I'll post some post-shed pics and take some more time. I just grabbed some afternoon sun (a little bright) in my front yard. I'm very pleased with the clutch- especially my little piece of eye candy!!! He is proof that superior base morphs make a better combo. ;) Thanks for looking and all the nice comments...

Lesser x Spider = LesserBee....so it would be a ButterBee??

OMG....stop the presses. That one in the middle.....is that the keeper?!!!! It's ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. You MUST post more pics of just that one. LOVE it!!!! And Dr. Del, don't flatter yourself.....:P

Do they tend to change colors a lot from hatchlings to juvis? Or, do they pretty much stay the same as they mature? I'm referring to BP in general...just curious.

Tanya -- Thanks for the kind words. Most ball pythons look best right after their first shed. A few get better with age. Lavender Albinos, Fires, some Ghosts, Butters and Lessers to name a few. How much a Ball "dulls out" depends on any number of factors. I am going to bet that my Butter Bee will look pretty good as an adult!

It really does seem if one looks at clutches in isolation that some guy up in "Olympus" is deciding who gets what and when.

In an effort to steer clear of the Johnny Walker and preserve my sanity, I have made a pact with myself that at season's end I will look at my birthing record "on paper". I supspect/trust that genetics will win out and when the numbers are tallied the boys/girls -- morphs/normal/combos will all be what they should. But, if those Ball Gods rake me over the coals and give me ANY less than I'm due I will just have only one thing to say to them ---- JUST YOU WAIT UNTIL NEXT YEAR!!!!...
